What the hell?

Randy Couture +218

That's like offering us Anderson Silva at anything less than -1000 against chumps like Lutter. This could be one of my largest wagers ever in the UFC!

Do not make this the largest wager ever. The only way randy wins this is by wrestling Tim to death. Earlier in his career that was very possible but Randy is what 43 now? You could see he slowed vs Chuck and even a little bit vs Van Arsdale. Granted Tim is not as quick as Chuck but he can turn your lights out with his right hand.

I can definitely see your perspective on this one but don't bet the house if you are going to take Randy. Maybe just a normal play. I lean towards Tim KO'ing the old man.

Good luck, I hope Randy wins, but I just can't see it. The reason he dropped to LH is because he couldn't beat bigger opponents (barnett, rodriguez). He works out at my gym every now and then and he is not naturally a big guy, 6-1 (if that) maybe 210 (although he looks like he has bulked up at UFC 67). Tim is huge in comparison. If Randy couldn't take Chuck down their last two matches, he is going to have a real hard time taking down a guy 7 inches taller and 50 lbs heavier than Chuck.

Don't know why so many think Tim is a joke. Dude is tougher than shit, I saw Mir snap his arm and he wanted to keep fighting. In his second fight with AO, Orlovski nearly knocked Tim out and 30 seconds later Tim knocked Olovski out. He's solid on the ground too.

He's just and ugly sonofabitch with a doughy body.

Well these are the last decent odds we get unless Sylvia wins and faces Cro Cop who would be favored no doubt...

I figured Timmy on around -300. Also, Silva very nearly lost to Lutter. He was dominated in the first round. Lutter was a solid dog play there although he really screwed up with his gay armbar attempt when he could have put it away.

Couture is going to have one hell of a tough time taking a guy that big down and Timmy should KO him. Sylvia also has some ground skills that he showed against Monson. He's not the most exciting fighter and he can definately be beaten (Crocop, cough, Crocop) but Couture is not the guy to match up and do it.

The only way randy has a chance is if tim takes him lightly and doesn't come in fit. Randy is over 40 and as you could see from his last few fights he is stiff and is unable to maintain a high level fighting throught the fights. He does train hard and comes in very fit...but he cannot beat father time...gl guys

I think Randy still has it but this is a horrible matchup for him. Chuck and Sylvia are both excellent strikers that are very tough to take down. If this stays standing, and it will, Randy will get knocked out. I love Randy but his best matchup is against grapplers and wrestlers that he can manhandle on the ground and GNP. Sylvia is too big for him to take down IMO.

I'm thinking Randy gets Tim by Submission in the 4th or 5th.
He's got something in store for him believe that.
He needs to get in some brutal body shots and try to break his ribs.
I watched him on Pro's vs. Joe's do 1 after another and another.
I know that's Joe's and this is going to be Tim Sylvia but I think it Reminded Randy that it is a weapon in his arsenal that he needs to use more often. That is even what he was saying himself.
If you remember when Sylvia lost the title before to Arlovsky it was a loss by submission.

It will be a thriller. They are gonna beat the shit out or each other.

It was a sub from Arvloski but it's not like AA scored the takedown... he rocked Tim on his ass with a punch and when he couldn't ground and pound he saw the leg and subbed a rocked Sylvia.

Randy did'nt submit him, but he sure did beat the shit out of him.
I'm glad he got the title again. The first UFC I saw was UFC6 I think the one where he first became the champ. Fuckin' A Right He kicked Sylvia's ASS. HE IS A BAD MAN!!!

Thanks. Didn't even come close to betting as much as I said I would...still cashed in but wish I had put more. Good odds are rare these days in the UFC.

I don't know what to think though. I have been calling Sylvia a fraud with an easy resume for a long time. Was it more that Sylvia sucked or that Randy was that good? Really tough to tell here. I have always thought Sylvia sucks ass.

Either way, would be interesting to see how Randy would bring it against Cro Crop.

Your point being?????

That you can't assume that Tim is weak on getting subbed when he had his ass rocked to hell when Arvloski got the sub and Couture hadn't shown that type of power at all. Nice shot by Randy though.

Crocop is next in line but I almost wonder if UFC will throw some crappy heavyweight against Randy first just to maximize PPV money before Crocop takes over...

Yeah man, thats already in the works...there are even talks of Randy fighting a scrub first than fighting Sylvia again with the winner taking on Cro Cop.

Personally I think it's crap and Randy vs. Mirko will be on UFC 72 or 73
