How is it people got money stuck there? Since i haven;t used Neteller personally in a LONG time i am curious what happened, was it something like Pinnacle shut down and you withdrew your cash out to neteller and just wanted it all back? Or was it sitting in Neteller and you had hoped to them move it to another book of your choice?

There would by much much less money tied up if Pinnacle had not shut down the week before.
Many people kept Neteller always funded just in case they saw a line they wanted to bet they could get the money there in a few clicks.
I got my $ out of pinnacle and some other books...requested an EFT on January 15th or so, and nothing ever happened. Then I was trying to get some shit figured out with a peer-to-peer transfer outside the country, and by the time Neteller processed my EFT cancel, they had stopped allowing peer-to-peers.

How hard is it to become a Neteller merchant? Is the process ridiculously difficult?
Also, if you wanted to use $ at a merchant site, do any allow you to transfer all your $ to them, then put it back into PayPal instead of Neteller? I'm looking at some sites, and it seems like they don't actually move the $ into your shopping account, but rather just take it out of your Neteller, so I doubt that'd work.
I'm grasping at straws here, obviously.

Has anyone emailed or called Neteller, espeically people who were VIP's, and gotten some responce to the situation? This claim of the FBI or DOJ freezing funds, in my eyes, is total bullshit. How could they have funds frozen JUST for US players where anyone else in the world's funds seem fine. Its a ludicris situation and/or claim that was made. Has Neteller themselves said whats going on. Why can't they mail out checks? How about letting people move their funds to any book still accepting Neteller.
This seems like a needlessly bad situation, these guys should be able to do whatever the hell they want to do!

One thing I should have mentioned when this was all taking place but I didn't. After withdrawing my funds in Vegas on my trip there on the 15th, it left me a small balance of like $7.50. When I got home and read all this nonsense going on, a few days later I went into my supermarket where I've taken out money before via Neteller debit card. When it came time to cash out, I thought I'd give my Neteller card a try for $6.75...7.50 - .75 POS charge. It was approved with no problem. Gave me a 0 balance in my account. I don't know if it would have helped anyone out who had thousands of $$ tied up there, but I guess you could have charged a Plasma TV at Best Buy and then returned it for the cash! Who knows? At least you would have gotten something out of the Netteller account. Or had a new TV at the least!

I dont think anyone would be stupid enough to do that, especially if you have already received one check from him....
I mean after all, you could simply call the police and report him.... Markie Mark has been a very respected poster here, so I am sure you are fine.
Speaking of Markie Mark, I do recall that he mentioned something about being down in the USA at Indianapolis on this past Tuesday.... mods can look at his previous posts to see if that tidbit is right.... it could explain why he's been "just simply away from online".
