Will "Regulation Time Only" Wagering Thrive?

I see that Pinny is now offering NHL wagers based on regulation time only (as well as the traditional including OT wagers).

This is a type of bet a long time coming, IMO (and its frustrating US bettors can't help it grow).

How many hoops and college foots small dogs and unders have you lost in your lifetime due to OT? More than small favs and overs won, I would bet. OT is nothing but a big pain in the ass for dog and under players. The capping is done based on regulation time only, and the grading should be based on the same.

I really wish totals for all sports were graded for regulation time only.

Not just totals, sides as well. It drives me nuts to have a +3.5 NFL dog lose by 6 in OT.

pinny has been doing this all season, 5dimes does it as well

Regulation-only lines have more appeal in the NHL market because overtime usually leads to shootouts, and for the most part, shootouts are pretty random.

I would like to see someone have the balls to start booking these same types of wagers for other sports as well. It would be pretty easy to do--just shave a little bit off the totals and sides for what should be close games (make the dog and under player pay something fair for the reduced risk of OT). The smaller the spread, the more is shaved off (because less risk for OT for what should be "blowout" games, and vice versa).
