Hopefully some of you more experienced folks can help me out. What books are good or even offer lines for arena league football? Is there money making potential in this sport? Thanks for your thoughts

Used The Greek, BetCris and Pinny last season for Arena football. Great books for that sport IMO. Money is to be made in Arena Football especially in totals. I followed a certain service last season and made great money. Can't name them or else thread will get moved. Pinny not an out for most but others are still available.

It's been so long since I bet on AFL, I don't remember what book offered them. Probably Betjm......

Don't count on much of anything this year from the AFL to be honest with you. Last year the lines were stupid. Someone in Vegas set them on Wednesday and literally, everyone just copied them and moved as Vegas moved. The markets literally all just moved at once.

I don't know how deep I'm going to commit myself to this for the upcoming season knowing that I'm probably going to have to bet -110 on these games instead of -105 or through Mansion's exchange... Does Matchbook put out AFL lines? I haven't had a penny offshore in over a month.

By the way, there's an ass load of money making potential in that sport. Nobody reads injury reports or anything like that. If you really know the game, you're way ahead of the books.

Are you a VooDoo fan? I'll be in New Orleans for the ArenaBowl in July.

I don't think Matchbook did last year, but if you put in the request early enough they may offer them.

Pinnacle offered great teaser odds and great odds when you sold points in arena but don't forget about 5dimes. You can tease the games with basketball, parlay the money lines, etc.

Pinnacle actually had terrible teaser odds because I have no clue why you'd tease AFL games... the lines aren't anywhere near tight like they are in the NFL and such, and the value of the teased points becomes less and less the higher scoring the game is. Besides that, for anyone watching the AFL, Pinnacle is out of the question and I highly doubt they even offer AFL lines next season.

GH: Who do you know on the team? HenryTaylor is a great guy to just sit and talk to. Tells it like it is and doesn't care whether anyone else likes it or not.

I have a friend whom in 04 was an orthopedic resident that used to help the team. Probably shouldn't have said "knew" the guys. I just met some through my buddy.

AFL, you post any of your picks? Does anyone post picks? Does the forum even talk about the sport? Thanks again

Agree there is no reason to tease AFL games. Since there are no key numbers, teasing is not a good idea.

I made a name for myself posting AFL picks... of course, I trailed off last year big time... there are probably a dozen posters or so that post picks in the AFL/NFL/CFL forum. Like I said, depending on how deep I really get into the offshore world again come March... we'll see.

I also write for a website for the league, so the gambling thing isn't nearly my only tie to the league. I've been a Preds fan for as long as I can remember (1992 when I was 7).

AFL knows more about this sport than anyone in the world, I am convinced. I constantly have to suffer through updates on Dwayne Carswell, Talman Gardner, Michael Bishop, Peter Warrick, Matt Nagy, etc. But Guru is the king of the AFL

We both know the only reason I'm on our sports trivia team is just in case a random AFL question comes up...

I reasonably follow the league. Before the season I look at all of the rosters. I know a lot of the players from following this league now for well over 10 years. I also recognize a lot of the players from following college football.

Maybe it is just me but the games that I pick I am very close on and I find that if I don't hit against the spread I almost always hit the teaser.

Pinnacle did not offer horrible teaser odds. They offered 7' point teasers @ -110. I did very well betting these. Say what you want about teasing games in the AFL or any sport but on games that I handicap I bet them with and without the teaser.
