With Millenium funds in limbo, I decided to start a modest account at Skybook in October. Monday after the Super Bowl I requested a payout.
THE GOOD: Customer service (once I got through on a busy day for them) was excellent. I ended up requesting MoneyGram, and had never done that before. Skybook called ME BACK (unheard of) the same afternoon to give me the details. Picking up the $$$ was mostly no problem.
The BAD: The fees were horrible! They told me that US players could only go through Western Union at a $68.00 fee with a max of 1,000.00, or use Money Gram with a $91.00 fee at a max withdrawal of $1,500.00. That is a low max payout and a high fee, considering other fine books charge nothing or a token fee. Being scared of the industry climate right now after seeing my funds in Millenium in RX limbo, WWTS funds moving to Bodog, and large Pinnacle account sent back to me, I decided not to wait and agreed to the outrageous $91.00 fee.
Another issue was finding a MoneyGram location that would cash $1,500.00 in one check. That took 2 days! This is more of an FYI for others here, do check around before going to cash the withdrawal and/or deciding to use this option.
I do not feel it was right to charge such a large fee. My original deposit was done through Western Union, so no banks or credit cards were involved. Bottom line: I would consider staying with Skybook next season because I was generally pleased with the customer service, website, and the 1/2 point in football if the industry is still solid next September, but if the sending and receiving options remain limited and costly I will think 2 or 3 times before doing so.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
