If you are talking about a way to alleviate tendonitis - the answer is no - but I have been planning on trying it - I think you crush aspirin into a powder and mix the two and it can penetrate the skin and really work - who knows.

A lot of people would use it for transdermal steroid use too. It used to be sold at a lot of bodybuilding supplement stores.

Yes, many times as an 5% solution to prevent ice crystal formation when storing cells in liquid nitrogen.

Never as a therapeutic agent, but I understand how it is capable of penetrating cells and tissues and providing symptomatic relief for inflamation. I don't know of any contra-indications but I don't think there are many studies.

I remember when this was first discovered. It was by Crown Zellerback....the paper company. It was in the mid 60's and my cousin went out and bought their stock because he thought it really was going to take off as a pain reliever for arthritis. When I first came out to Calif. in 1976, they started selling it in the stores. I guess they still do but don't see it advertised like they used to .
