Put a hold on my card....10 minutes just to get through the phone system to a customer service rep, who couldn't help me so put me through to another costomer service rep, who said my phone number didn't match the one they have on file (despite me knowing my address and SS #) so they wouldn't help me, so she transfered me to a supervisor (another 20 minutes on hold), who told me that I needed to speak with the fraud department, but they were closed, so I'll have to call back on Monday. I asked her for my last five charges, all were mine. I'm nowhere near my limit, no unusual charges, just a little bugger behind the curtain fucking with me.

I can't get over the recording when you are on hold that says, "you're call is important to us...please stay on the line....SO WE CAN LAUGH AT YOUR STUPID ASS!

At least I had this great website to peruse while on hold and my blood boiled over. I got to see basketball players that look alike, a guy who shit his underwear, and a bunch of homos in a swimming pull screwing each other.

Fantastic friggin' saturday.

One of my cards (not Capital One) was flagged because I used it for the first time in over a year.

Another card (also not Capital One) was flagged because I happened to request an additional card (for a family member) while changing my address.

It's annoying but it happens with every bank. They are just trying to cover their ass.

I was put on Fraud Alert after Cris Debit Card denied my deposit.
worst thing was deposit failed, but was charge 2 times $500 from Cris Debit Card.

Cris accounting couldn't help me, because the card is under another bank.
had to call CapOne and charged back the dough. Phew, lucky me.

My wife has a store credit card and I called today for a balance, expecting to navigate a phone menu. I couldn't believe it was answered immediately by a humanoid. Haven't had that happen in years.

This seems to be happening everywhere now - not even just gamblers. I had two cards in the past month needing to be "shut down for security reasons". No problems with any charges on them - they are claiming that they think some database out there is in the wrong hands. It's been a big inconvenience to put up with considering there have not been problems with my cards.

I had 2 fraud issues in the last month.

First, we just got back from Aruba and then 2 days later I was charging in Pittsurgh and my wife charging in Phila. I thought that was why. Called them (CHase) and it turned out someone weas trying to take out cash advances on my credit card in Florida. They cancelled the card and sent me a new one. So this was a rral fraud issue.

Second, wife jsut went to the Phillipines. I needed to find a card without any balance (lots of 0% balance transfer money), and found another chase card. She used it in the phillipines (first charges ever on the card except free balaance transfers) so they put a flag on it. I convinced them the charges were legit and they kept the card open.

I think they are becoming more pro-active on potential fruad issues.

Back in 2002 when I was moving from Phoenix to L.A. I was charging gas on my Citibank credit card. In the middle of the desert I tried to gas up using the card and it didn't work. I tried it again and it didn't work so I figured the magnetic strip didn't work.

After trying it for a 3rd time in Phoenix I called Citibank. They said they suspended my charging privileges because there were a lot of charges between Phoenix and L.A.

:monsters-

They said they thought someone had stolen my card and was charging a lot. They didn't bother contacting me.

What if I only had that credit card as a payment method??? I would have been stuck there. Luckily I had cash on me.

I promptly cancelled my card.
