The amazing thing is, the 9-11th place teams may be better teams than the 6-8th place teams(two of which are the most recent STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS)..............gonna be a helluva playoff race down the stretch........




The 8th place TAMPA BAY Lightning, in all liklihood, will go down today as a +170 dog @ Jersey.

Fish, there are enough games remaining to add the 12-15 spots in that race. Bruins, Caps and Panthers are within 8-9 pts of a playoff spot. Only Philly is out. Very tight also for 4th place. You should bring this thread back at the end of the regular season and compare.

I don't think any of the three are serious playoff contenders(to many teams to catch)...........BOSTON maybe since they do have a few games in hand.


Again, would be very surprised/shocked if WASHINGTON or FLORIDA made the playoffs...........can't see it.

But then again, none of the 6-11th place teams seem to really want to play CONSISTANT great hockey...........the Bolts have been very hot, but they will have a two game losing streak after today in all probability.

Montreal just reeks right now and may be the worst of the 6-11th place teams currently................would LOVE TO SEE THEM NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.

They had a players-only meeting last night after the loss to Ottawa. Montreal doesn't have a great team but I'd be surprised if they don't make it.

I agree that Flo and Wash chances are slim. I'd have to look at everyone's remaining schedule but I just don't see the Isles making it. Leafs were hot so you have to expect them to go down a little more now.

I wonder if any of Mtl-TB-Car-NYR meet near the end of the season.

WAKE-UP

Game watch will take place at MacDinton’s Irish Pub in Tampa on Sunday afternoon when the Lightning travel to the Meadowlands to play the New Jersey Devils (3:30 p.m., NBC Sports, AM 620 WDAE). All fans in attendance will receive a complimentary buffet and $1.50 Bud Lights during the game.

Let me tell you from experience, it is very hard/worthwhile to hedge an NHL FUTURE at 50-1 or less................good to see you have 60-1.

Hopefully for your sake the PENS can garinish a FIRST ROUND home ice advantage.

You DEFINETLY will be able to "HEDGE" and wrap up a small profit(subjecting yourself to HUGE layoffs if they advance deep into the playoffs), which they very well could do.

RECOMMENDATION--Do not HEDGE the FIRST ROUND and take it from there.............then you will have a 60-1 ticket on a team that could win it all with just three remaining playoff series wins.

PITTSBURGH is a TOP SIX team right now in the NHL in my opinion........so you have a very nice wager..........and it looks for certain that they will make the playoffs.

That would be TERRIBLE if it did occur...........

Heck, there are even rumors here in Tampa of the team moving to Houston or Kansas City..............even though they are consistantly in the TOP FIVE in NHL attendance.

If the Bolts do not make the playoffs, its going to be very interesting here in Tampa.............as the team will lose NINE MILLION DOLLARS if they do not.

OWNERSHIP is practically demanding at least a CONFERENCE FINAL from them to take the heat off of them.

Wow, I didnt know that about the bolts?

With this team the pens have...young and explosive, why wouldnt someone do what they can to keep them in pittsburgh, Pittsburgh has a great fan base for all of its sports team..I just dont understand the reasoning.

I know we need a new arena but its not like that one is falling apart.

be sad to see some of these teams move but one city waiting to get a team again is winnipeg. Those fans are true hockey fans and now that the NHL has a salary cap a small market like Winnipeg could make it in todays NHL.

Wierd schedule today with most of the action being played in the Western Conference.

I am playing The Columbus Blue Jackets -1.5 +200 over The Chicago Blackhawks at DSI. (my hockey book). I like getting that plus 200 at home against a poor team like Chicago.
