Having watched him play down here in Tampa for years, you will find him a PLEASANT ADDITION to RED SOX NATION..............most of which I'm sure have taken his signing with a collective yawn.

Plus, playing on a much better team with much better players should make JULIO even better.............again, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

The guy gives 110% at all times and his play clearly dictates he is a team player that loves to win.............unfortunately, this wasnt the case much here in Tampa.

THe question is his defense, or so they say. You cannot play bad defense or have lousy range. Well a couple of years ago when we got Orlando Cabrera we were very surprised. His numbers may not stick out or say all star but he was/is a good ball player. Hopefully another Latin player does the same.

Cabrera with Pokey as backup? Best SS combo of all time. They were everything Nomar wasnt when it came to defense.

Two plays I really liked from Pokey, the basket catch he made and the inside the park HR were nothing short of pure euphoria. I couldnt be happier to be a Sox fan at that moment. Until Yanks series and the parade of course.

How about Pokey when Ortiz hit one of his game winningbombs he would be on top of the pile. It was awesome. The very top.

Cabrera and Pokey had the chemistry. I admit I did not like that trade initially (didn't think we got enough for Nomar) but it was a great trade that helped us reverse the curse.

It was like when JFK got shot or something. So many people I havent even heard from in a while, calling me up. "Hey did you hear about Nomar?" It was insane, I dont think many of us could see Theo's genious at that moment. But I know I was sick of seeing Nomar throwing balls into the dugout and having opposing teams' runner make easy advance to second, so I was willing to be supportive of anything.

It was the weekend. I'll never forget it.

Not only that but Nimar was being a cry baby. He was a full time pouter and did not want to be here. Hey I like Nomar but all the weight lifting (roids?) have hurt him and caused him injuries. Not the same player. Theo did a great job but last year he made some bad moves. This year Drew is a serious serious ?. Gotta love the Sox though. Nothing like the Sox in New England.

You're right Fish. Lugo not a big enough name for Red Sox Nation.

well im a Dodger fan and i cant tell you how glad i am to have him gone.

OVER RATED !!

He's not overrated, granted he's not the second coming of Tejada, but Lugo will give you .275 12 taters and about 25 steals.
He'll score 85-90 runs and make the plays at short/second.

I can think of a lot worse middle infielders.

I hate to stereotype but some of those latin players are better than their numbers. Lugo is better than his numbers just like Orlando Cabrera was. Players who have range, speed, scrappy, good defensively.....good players better than you think.
