Fair---how old are you if I may ask?

The reason I ask, do you recall the great RAY MEYER days at DEPAUL............they were great in the late 70's and early 80's.

They were the team to dislike nationwide...........but also had many fans of theirs across the nation.

GREAT TIME FOR DEPAUL BB

I am 42. The DePaul games were always on WGN in the late 70's-early 80's so I watched them. They had a great rivalry with the Digger Phelps Irish teams. The Final Four team of Meyer really changed that program. They are an inner city school located just south of Wrigley Field and basically recruited Chicago-area kids. After the Final Four season, they started to recruit nationally and lost some of their identity in the Chicago area.

They are just starting to rebuild to those glory days now. When Joey Meyer got run out of town, Ray cut off ties with the school. Only before he died, did he and the school make up.

Wainwright is a solid coach that preaches D (from UNC Wilmington). May want to look at the under. The keys to DePaul is how will Meijas play? Chandler is a rebounder and low post scorer. If he keeps improving, has a shot at the next level. Poor shooting team from outside.

I would look under small.

South Florida +155 is my favorite play of the day. Should be in the -115 to -120 range in my opinion.

DePaul 29
USF 22 1 min to go 1st 1/2
UNDER LOOKS GOOD ---

I have a liking for both teams. Growing up in Chicago I was an avid fan of DePaul - Terry Cummings, Dallas Comegies, Bernard Randolph, Rod Strickland, Tyrone Corbin, etc.

And as well have gone to and support my hometown U S F teams.

Chandler started the scoring with a dunk and in the 2nd half had an awe inspiring dunk to help the Blue squad pull away.

By the way, they were LITERALLY giving tickets away for this game outside the arena............never seen anything like it.

FREE

Meanwhile, scalpers were trying to get $20 a ticket.......LOL

There must have been around 2,000 at this game............I played to bigger crowds in high school during my playing days.

Announced crowd was 5100.

Fish - little heads up on Chandler. See he had his second worst game of the year Saturday. He should have a big bounce-back game Tuesday night at Notre Dame. He is from Benton Harbor, Mi (only 45 minutes away) and have a lot of friends and family there. He had 25 pts/14 rebounds two weeks ago vs ND and is avg 14/7 on the year as a sophomore. He could approach those numbers again with the soft ND defense.

:lolBIG: I could have sworn you graduated from the same high school as me. We didn't have room for 2,000 people in the whole town let alone the gym.

Wasn't Terry Cummings the big man on those teams? I remember the Depaul games and Marquette and ND games on NBC bcak in the early 80's with the no shot clock back then.

One other memeroy of that ERA was Kelly Tripucka with his huge adam's apple playing for the Irish and how much I hated him then he was drafted by favorite team (the Pistons) ane he helped turn them around.
