once field of 65 is anounced, all 65 teams will be up for bid....for a 1st round win u get a certain amount of money/points (whichever we deciede to keep score with)...and as the rounds go on u gets more and more.....so a team like charleston might get sold for $5 and florida might go for $400...depending on the amounts we use....usually this has to be done in person but we could arrange a live auction via chat or this site...anybody that wants to participate would have to put money in an account aheah of time...not sure if betjam would want to hold it or contribute...it is hands down 1 of the most exciting contests to play...just wanna see if there is any interest?...

well gotta keep it reasonably low since u would have to prepay....thinking maybe $10=round of 32, $25 sweet 16, $50 final 8, $100 final 4, $200 final 2, $500 natinoal champion.....so if u own the winning team...(which only 1 person can own a team, but u can own as many teams as u feel like bidding on)....so if u own the eventual champion u will get $885 from that team....but the beauty is in buying say a Winthrop for $8 and them making final 8 and u getting $85...like i said this would just be a preliminary pay scale if we find a way to do it we could go higher on prizes....

I saw a ticket broker doing this either last year or year before.

You can auction final 4 tickets for your favorite team with the ticket prices varying on the ranking of the team.

Could of got Goerge Mason for a ham sancwich I'm sure.

what if everybody in just posted say $200 and we all got a certain number of points to use for the auction....we could have max 10-12 people join and we could do auction on a "chat service" such as aim or yahoo messenger....this could work.....all stats and contest info will be run thru the rx the rest of the way after the auction.

Something like this is definately the way to do it. Start the draft with a top seed, have two more in the exact middle and end with top seed or go completely random shuffle. Stategy in managing your money would be crucial. I will draw up an example of how it would work tomorrow the way I am thinkingcould draw it up very creatively and it would be awesome if we got say ten guys for 200 each.

stuff like that is what would make this so much fun. My system would not be ridiculously backloaded. I would want each game to matter at least a little bit.

will do tomorrow and will send a proposed payout structure to you that we can start from and branch off of. Will assume 10 guys at 200 for now.

Guys, I have two March Madness contests which are about to launch.... (and probably two others which will come next week)

One of them is real simple, its with BetJamaica and will require a 300$ entry fee, everyone will have to pick 25 games against the spread for the tourney, and the most units won will take home the prize.

Since this is a handicapping site, I like to keep the contests to be handicapping contests, keeping them simple ensures that sponsors will be interested in promoting them, and posters will be interested in entering them.

the_ticket I sent you an email.

Good idea ticket. Definitely sounds like something of interest. I agree you should make sure the money is paid up front.
A similar idea would to have 8 people pick 8 teams with a salary cap and then each round be worth a certain amount.
