Another wrestling death.

Mike Alfonso, better known to wrestling fans as Mike Awesome was found dead at the age of 42 in Tampa.

Friends were going to pick him up at his home, he didn't answer the door and was found hanging. This is being ruled a suicide until the results of the autopsy.

Awesome found great success as "The Gladiator" in FMW in Japan. He was a high-flying big man and was later made ECW champion on two occasions in 1999 and 2000, where he and Masato Tanaka continued their feud from FMW. While he was champion he signed a WCW contract, and Tazz was loaned back to ECW from WWE to take the title back.

Awesome worked for a short time with the WWF after the collapse of WCW during the Invasion angle and after that in All Japan. He had not wrestled in some time. Awesome was recently working as a realtor at Coldwell Banker.

Might be all of those steroids those boys take to keep that much muscle on them. Short term use might not kill you but long term is another story.

You guys shouldn't make comments on steroids unless you've actually done the research on them and actualled used them.

They are safer than alcohol and tobacco.

Where alot of these guys have problems is when they combine steroids with pa8inkillers and sometimes alcohol. It ends to their demise once they get out of their prime. combine that with a "need for adventure" .; Sometimes, they just don't have a family and go off the deep end.

But, there is more to it than "Blame the roids"

Thats what congress and politicans do. Thet get fat and ugly and blame all of the problems on steroids when the truth of it they have never touched a weight in their lives and will never look half as good as me

I remember him best in the ECW, Spike Dudley got a beating from him several times. Spike would do alot of bumps in matches with him.

Do some research and you wouldn't do them.... but then if all you're worried about is looking good then keep on stacking and cycling.

I found a couple of articles written by guys who would put your 'body' to shame that tend to disagree with you:

Ever heard of Larry Pacifico?

http://apse.dallasnews.com/contest/2002/writing/over250/over250.enterprise.fifth13.html

Another one is about a friend of mine, Scott Warman. I've worked out with Scott and he's deffinitely against steroid use due to health reasons;

If you're going to use the stuff then get a doctor to supervise you and just hope that everything goes well. But to say that juice won't hurt you merely suggests you don't have a clue.

If Awesome was on the juice, it had the opposite effect as Barry Bonds in terms of head size. Awesome had this big giant body and little tiny head.

Stoli,

It's not just juice that can cause the head to grow but HGH, human growth hormone, that can cause syptoms of gigantism. Bonds was supposedly taking HGH plus a synthentic steroid distributed by BALCO.

Steroids CANNOT cause bone density to increase. HGH does do that, however. That was the common misconception in the Bonds case. He likely truthfully could answer he never did steroids as HGH is a completely different compound scientifically.

It's all at best 'risky'...too many people have went down in flames.

Ask Lyle Alzado and The Mentzer bros what they think of steroids, Steve Courson and countless others who are no longer with us ....

Try and find a ten year old photo with 5 or more WWE or WWF wrestlers in it where they're all still alive ...not easy to do.

Ahhh, so much to learn for you folks.

maybe in my time here, i'll have to share a little more info.

Don't feel like it right now, but usually when someone slams steroids they bring up lyle Alzedo as the poster child and say because he is dead, everyone will die who takes them. LOL Yet, as I take the 1 minute to write this, 2 or 3 people just died from something alcohol related.

There are always exceptions, but if used responsibly, steroids are wonderful. When I am in my 40's which is a long way away, I plan on taking testosterone as a replacement for natural test levels dropping.

Like everything, its about moderation.

Haha, I didn't even read that until after i posted, but as usual I'm right on

I'm telling you guys, i am as great as I say i am. Ask your buddy gyno. i've said many things over the past year and am right more more often than I am wrong from everything to the best quarterback ever to play in the NFL to politics to how people's minds work.
