:WTF:

:puppy:

From the Des Moines register Tuesday morning..........

Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark learned Saturday that even someone who helps win a Super Bowl has to watch what he says at a high school girls' basketball game in Iowa.

Clark, a Livermore native and former Iowa football player, was asked to leave the gymnasium late in the third quarter of the district final game between Twin River Valley of Bode, where Clark attended high school, and Southeast Webster-Grand of Burnside in Burnside, two school officials said Monday.

"I have seen other parents behave a lot worse, but he apparently got into one of the officials' ear," said Kirk Gilson, the athletic director at Southeast Webster-Grand. "I really don't know what led up to it, but apparently one of the referees didn't like what he heard from him."

Gilson said Clark left the gymnasium immediately and without incident after being asked by Dan Grandfield, the Southeast Webster-Grand principal.

Attempts to reach Clark, who played an instrumental part in the Colts' drive to win the Super Bowl against Chicago this month, were unsuccessful.

Mike Jorgensen, Southeast Webster-Grand school superintendent and girls' basketball coach, said he knew Clark had to leave but did not notice any major disturbances.

"I didn't see it happen or hear anything because of the game," Jorgensen said of Clark. "All I know was that he was asked to leave. I didn't notice any kind of behavior that you would call disruptive."

Troy Dannen, executive secretary of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, said Monday night that he had received no report from school officials or the officiating crew of an ejection. Dannen said that the union's office is to be notified of any ejection that occurs during postseason play.

"We will be looking into this to find out what transpired," Dannen said.

Southeast Webster-Grand defeated Twin River Valley 65-52.

Its great to read an official grabbed his sack and tossed a well-known fan from a game for being an idiot.

Last time I checked he was a member of the Colts and therefor, can now do anything he wants.

If the ref. is too weak to take it, fire him. Then he'll think twice about it being OK to be pussified. he knew what he was signing up for as a referee. Thats the way it is.

Viking611 and Fishhead will be devastated at this news.
I think this is hilarious! Stupid refs...I've been tossed out of a HS game as well from the sidelines for giving them a hard time. The ref was probably our very own Bears fan/referee, INDYSPORTS.

I am a high school basketball official and people and fans are more ignorant than ever these days. I had a guy come up to me at halftime last week and
he says, what's matter you don't like black people?? Apparently he thought
his kid was Michael Jordan. I still am extremely surprised how crazy some
of these people get watching these games! I always think to myself WTF, it's not like these dweebs have money on the darn games!! It's just pathetic.

This was a joke. Dallas said less than many fans. I've been to plenty of games and saw people make complete asses out of themself and never get tossed. Dallas got tossed for saying hardly anything. When you're Dallas Clark at a small school basketball game in Iowa, everyone in the gym knows who you are including the spineless, rabbit eared ref who tossed him. This is news only because it is Iowa and there is nothing else going on.

He told the ref his partners stink. That is what got him tossed. He had probably said other things before that but nothing vulgar, no bad language or anything. I swear Journeyman, it was a joke but that is life in small town Iowa. Fishhead will chime in when he comes back. At our small gyms people are sitting right on top of the officials so they know they're going to hear shit. This ref was in the wrong.

I don't agree when you say the ref was in the wrong. If there was anything said to the ref that he felt warranted throwing Dallas Clark out of the gym, then that is the ref's call. It is his judgement, so he can't be "in the wrong." Just my two cents.

There were people at the game yelling far worse stuff than Dallas. He never warned Dallas or anything. The ref knew who he was and tossed him because of that. I am sure both Dallas and the ref are embarrassed over this and would both do it differently if they could do over. But the damage for Dallas is done, the ref lives on in obscurity.

The ref might have had New England and still ticked off about it.

Clark pretty much saved the Colts with his Velcro catches in that game.
