Okay I go to a small college and for some stupid reason I did not show up for a month and now don't have the balls to go to class. Any advice on how to get back in?

Probably write this semester off and start again in the spring.

If you're still enrolled, man up and sprout a set. Go and speak with your professors about what could be done and not only show a willingness to do the work, but actually do it. If not you've burned the last bridge you have.

Seriously...make up an excuse and just show up.

Also find out which classes take attendance and which don't. The ones that don't, you don't really have to explain anything (those are usually the ones that only have 4-5 tests per semester, and no other grades), so just show up and take the tests.

But I suggest talking to your professors, make up some BS reason why you weren't there, and throw yourself at their mercy. But, MAKE SURE YOU DO IT IN PERSON. No email, no phone call. People are much less likely to reject your request, much less likely to be sympathetic, if they don't have to turn you down to your face.

I agree 100% with this advice. Most professors are willing to help you out especially if you are trully willing to do the work.

If you're not up for the honest approach you could always say you were somebody's sex slave for the past month, but now that you've been "liberated" you're ready to rock and roll.

Things could be worse...

I'd have to agree with:

1) Find out which classes take attendance
2) Go to the Professor privately after class or arrange a private meeting. If you were depressed or whatever reason you missed it...if you feel comfortable try having a heart to heart and see what can be done. Otherwise just tell them that you had some personal issues or whatever you feel comfortable with divulging. Just make it clear you want to work with them and pass the semester if it's possible.

If it's not possible there's always the summer and the fall. Good luck.

If you can't get a refund, just go there and talk to the "professors" during their ioffice time and just tell them you've had such a horrible run of luck from father dying to mono to wrecking your car. Try to play the sympathy card. Its all about manipulation, thats how this weak country works.

If he had the genetic make up not to feel sorry for you, he wouldn't be some little teacher at a small little college. Also, tell him your computer was unoperable because he'll dfinately give the why didn't you e-mail me talk. He wants to slam you hard but probably doesn't have what it takes. thats why he teaches

I used to go to the first class and then the final in many of my classes. This is not a big deal.

i attended a course only 3 times during college once cause the instructor was a complete fuck off and didn't know how to teach

i had to study like mad for the final but did well on it and pulled out a respectable grade

expect to bust your ass getting ready for the final (or mid term if that isn't over already) those exams can single handedly save your ass if you are willing to work to study (like reading chapters front to back and taking notes)

Actually was in this same boat last semester. It was my last semester of college and was taking 21 credit hours trying to graduate but for a month and half never went to class. I was so embarrassed to show up and didn't know what to do. I wrote each one of my professors an e-mail telling them how sorry I was and was perfectly honest. You still have a couple months left, so just say you will attend the rest of class and work very hard. Also mention you understand the consequences of what they do with your grades. If you show a willingness to come to class and work hard the rest of the way, they will see the effort and give you passing grades.

I could probably dig up my old e-mails i sent my teachers if you are interested.

Depends entirely on the class. You may have alredy been dropped from it, or you may have a shot to pull yourself out of this.

Since you thossed this out here, #1 How much did you blow on tuiton for the semester assuming you're shit out of luck & #2 WTF did you do for the last month?

The dog ate my homework excuse used to work for me.

Seriously, just face the music like a grown up and talk to admissions or a dean and find out what you have to do to re-enroll. Most likely it will a lot easier than you are imagining.

wil..

To me the sick excuse will be seen as a bs excuse, who doesnt have time to call their profs when sick, especially if sick for a month.

Lucky for you, I have your surefire excuse that WILL work.

Depression....

Tell them that you just couldnt get out of bed for days, ended up finally going to see a doctor who sent you to a psyc who found out you had a serious case of depression. Tell them you are now on zoloft (sounds like you know what your talking about) and want to do whatever possiable to catch up.

your welcome

Can you change your classes to credit only? i.e. you either pass or fail, no letter grade so it doesnt hurt your GPA. If so, do that....and just fail them. Won't kill your GPA but will show up on your transcript. Hopefully you learned your lesson too.
