OT: New New Era Major League Baseball Hats

Anybody else hate the look of the new New Era MLB hats? I think they are just terrible. I love the old hats and buy 3 or 4 a year of different teams. I guess these absorb sweat better, but is it worth it? Why can't they just leave some good things alone??

What the hell is that on the side? A stripe or something?

Baseball hats are classic and should not be changed every year (although I feel that way about most uniforms). The new styles they make just to sell new ones to bandwagon fans is pretty disgusting.

I think these are just a spring training type of thing....I have about 20 of them, and I don't think they are changing them this year except that the inside band is going to be changed from white to black, but thats all....no noticeable difference when you wear it

I could be wrong, but I think they are going to wear them for the year. There is an article on yahoo about them. Says they will still sell the old ones, "...though of fashion variety, in non-authentic colors and styles." This sucks.

They always wear different Spring Training hats due to the hot weather of camp...Usually mesh hats, nice change up here though..

always changing things to make a buck....i wish teams would stick to their uniforms, MLB does it more than anyone...those Mets black uniforms are awful....I hate all the black uniforms.

White Sox and Orioles - not bad. The Mets black tops suck. The Mets two-tone batting helmets are horrid too.

those attached pictures are the "spring training" and "batting practice/workout" hats. Those aren't the new hats but yes they are getting new hats with a different material than the 100% wool hats that have been used. First change in 50+ years to the hat.

They will look the exact same.

Also many of the players that tested them, like the new hats

The Sox and Birds have black in their team colors which is acceptable...the Mets though and any other team , KC is another....lose the black, their team colors are not black.

Good to hear. I just hope the new ones don't have that thing over the ear.

they are just for spring and BP during the season like last few seasons they had the mesh looking hat for spring and BP
