It's a longshot, but do you own this TV?

It's a Samsung HLP5085W. I purchased mine as a floor model about 18 months ago and now the time has come for me to move. I'm trying to track down an originial box and packaging online but it seems as though this thing exists like the gunman on the grassy knoll.

I have virtually no skills when it comes to building some sort of container to put this thing in, so I've looked for wooden crates online in which to ship it. It measures too large (53x56x24) for everyone that I've seen so far.

If you have this TV and wouldn't mind unloading the packaging, let me know. I know it's a longshot, but why not?

Call a local moving company. I'm sure they move plenty of those. They must have a box you can buy off of them.

I actually have that TV. When Circuit City delivered it they took the packaging with them. Have you tried contacting them? How far are you moving? If you can't find packaging and it's not too far I would put it in a trailer or pick up and have a couple of buddies ride in the back with it. You don't plan on dissassembling it from the base do you?

I'm going to speak with CC tomorrow morning. That's where I purchased mine as well. I'm moving from SC to TX, so not exactly an easy move. I don't think you can disassemble it since the screen connects to the column and the circuitry contained inside it.

Any decent carpenter will have that bad boy safe for transport with 3-4 2x4's, a sheet of 1/2" plywood and 30 minutes.

I actually have the 56" model. When they came to deliver it they didn't think they would be able to fit it down the stairs.(It's in my basement). They thought it was going to be too high. They suggested dissassembling it from the base but said they were not allowed to put it back together for me. Fortunatly it just fit.

I have the 56' and I have a 70' mitubishi. I recently move and the guys moved both w/o incident. They put cardboard down first, then moving rugs, then used are matresses to buffer it. All this was done if the front part of the truck (less bouncing around, I was told. Anyway it was matress, tv, matress,tv matress and then tied down.

The funny part is nothing in that whole truck broke. The only thing that broke was a very expensive neon sign which I packed in my own car purposely not to have in broken. WTF.

gl. on your move.
