I was thinking 1k. Maybe I am low. I have tried to keep mine under 1k since I got an attitude from one for $1,100 a month ago.

What do you mean by "red flag", though? Most international checks have a 5-day hold so that your bank can have it cleared before crediting your account with the full amount.

Usually, the bank will credit $100 of the entire balance right away, but that the funds are available on the 5th business day in its entirety (and the ironic part is that the bank probably still hasn't cleared it internally).

So as long as it's not ONE check of over $10K as that'd be flagged under the BSA (Bank Secrecy Act). However, I believe I read somewhere that aggregrate check amounts adding up over $10K can allow the bank to file a SAR (suspicious activity report) as this was mentioned last week or so on here.

This is why I figure that whether it is $1K, $2K, $4K.... is moot and besides the point. It will be fine after the hold period is over.

Interesting. I did have the teller check with the manager for a good 2 minutes when I cashed a $3K Canadian check last month (and I have a $4K check coming; it sucks to be on a great winning run the last few months, eh?). But it was no problem as I was able to use the funds the following week.

Just want to deposit these anyways but she was talking like it would be an 8 week process to do this (check to clear) so I have been depositing in my other bank since then.
Now I have accumulated about 5 checks and not sure where to go and have been asking for all of them under 1,500.

Ice I think you're a liitle over conservative ... you seem to be watering down a lot of thing....step it up man, you're cheating yourself.

I think we tend to look for things like 'bank tellers raising an eyebrow' a simple question here or there as more than what it really is...I've done the same things.

I put a Candian check in my checking acct (via ATM)two days ago and my bank called me and said they don't take Canadian checks...even though it was in USD.

That's scary, JMan. After being successful last month, I am still worried about this month with the upcoming $4K check as I'm guessing it'll be Canadian as well. If my bank says "we no longer accept Canadian checks" (which is a load of air--- poor international travelers and entrepreneurs that has nothing to do with the gaming industry), then what would my alternative be!?

I was going to open a 2nd checking account at another bank (JMan, it's the bank that you provided a link to their promotion last month, I think it was you). Hope it wasn't this bank that turned you down.

BTW, JMan, since we are in the same "area", my bank that I have no problems *so far* has a reddish-burgundy color on their logo. Hoping we have different banks...

I called another bank and they said no problem...they'd cash it either way...if the funds were in USD there is no fee...if the checks are in Canadian there would be a 60 dollar fee.

So I will open a new acct at the other bank...I have to wait for the checks to be mailed back...

BTW- these were NOT sportsbook checks.

Besides Offshore with a laptop in-tow, I'm gonna probably hop a plane for LV March 15-18..maybe stay the for following week also.

But, it's just great to see that horse degens can access their TVG and Expressbet accounts with the mere click of mouse, or use of their satelite tv remotes..

Thanks Uncle Sam!
