On the rise-

*Georgetown charging towards a #2 seed

* Louisville who was literally OUT of the tourney 21 days ago is now IN and maybe the 3rd best Big east team.

* Southern Illinois a real legit final 8 team IMO

*Vanderbilt! Where the hell did they come from!? They lost to App State at home and are now up to #17 .

*Virginia , the Hoos are finally playing good ball again.

Slip sliding away-

*Clemson , started 17-0, 2-7 since and are more than likely out of the dance.

*Oregon and Arizona both appeared to be serious threats early both are fading away.

*Duke if they win two games in the dance it would be a major accomplishment.

* Oklahoma State, I think they were in the top 10 early season, man they have fallen off the table.

And the Frauds-

*LSU, looked horrible the entire season, how in the hell did this team do it last year:WTF: Can you say' zero offensive ability'?

Thomas erased mistakes aplenty, Mitchell dropped moneyshots when needed..LSU won close all last year..

This year, LSU has been in games all year, play D, losing close, Baby is below-rim player with no inside help all year, lack true PG, also have bad perimeter shooters of average foot speed.

Had below average written all over them early on.

Vandy and Arkansas..decent SEC NCAA darkhorses..

Florida still the best team in the land, until UCLA/OSU/Wisc/Kan/NC/G-Town step up and prove otherwise..

G-Town is gonna make some #1 seed very nervous and miserable to have drawn them in bracket..if and when.

One team that is under EVERYONE's radars...

UMASS

I've always hated this team, since the Lou Roe days...but after watchin their last few games...their front court, defense, coaching (Travis Ford), & attitude...has the makings of a team that can make a run.

umass has been on my radar all season. unfortunately, i put good money behind them before they started to come together. they got their asses handed to them (inexplicably) by boston college at home earlier in the year. even with bc at 100%, umass wins a rematch comfortably. they are very good, and very well coached too. their main weakness is horrific free throw shootingl. but they hammer the glass and lasme is an eraser inside.

vandy lost to appy state in puerto rico in the championship game of that tourney. not as bad a loss as it looks. plus asu looks like one of the 3 best in the socon.

the other thing you forgot to mention is how bad a coach john brady is...LSU offense is one of the biggest clusters i've senn...and to think he got a contract extension out of last year:ohno::think2:

Davidson and Winthrop are both for real and potential first-round upsets with the right matchup.

Yep! Look for Winthrop in the first round. Also, Texas A&M is the real deal and should go a long way.

strange thing is, they were 10 times better LAST year. yet didnt make the ncaa tourney. go figure.

They made the tournament last year--they didn't deserve it but I think they made it.

Texas A&M is a Final 4 type team, I think. Shut down defense and a senior that wants the ball at the end of the game.

UMass is kind of a sleeper. Not the highest IQ squad and yeh, bad at the charity stripe.

ODU has been a moneymaker this yr. but they aren't so much better this season. CAA is not as good. Erratic underachievers in '05-'06.

Davidson and Winthrop are two teams that other schools do not want to play in the opening round.

old dominion did not make the tournament last year despite having a very good team. last year's odu was seriously 5 or 6 pts better than this team.

agree on a+m though

easiest bet you will make on the ncaa tourney 1st round will be delaware state 'under' if they don't choke in the meac tourney.
