OT--DirecTV DVR

I have seen many negatives about it being slow etc...

Just bought a new Plasma--having HD dish/box put in. Do I go for the DVR for $299. Tivo seems kind of pricy at $699.
Would you go with the DVR??:think2:

I have the new DIRECTV DVR and it works great. Had it for about the last month.

They came out with a new DVR about a month ago. I think most of the complants is from the old model.

Could not imagine TIVO being any better.

BTW, DIRECTV DVR is the only one of the 2 that plays back 100% of the quality of the origanal version.

Tivo is Essential, can't even imagine not having it anymore.

I have a Directv DVR thats 1.5 years old, its slow as hell.

Tivo is 10x better and it isnt even close. Not even close. not even close. Worth the $400 easy

I have an old one that I couldn't live without. Upgraded it from 20 hours to 200. Can be a bit slow at times, but rebbot once every couple months and things are fine. I imagine the new ones are awesome.
