Remember the good old days when you used PayPal to fund your offshore account? Well believe it or not, you can do the same thing again if you have money in PayPal although it might be indirectly!

If you go out and buy one of those reloadable Visa cards from Netspend.com from your local check cashing place, you are only a couple of steps away from transferring money from PayPal to your Visa card.

When you buy a card from netspend, you get an account where you can deposit money from PayPal. Below are the instructions so you can see how easy it is.

Setup your NetSpend Card with PayPal (one-time setup):
  • Login to PayPal account (www.paypal.com). Select "Withdraw".
  • In the "Withdraw Funds" screen, click "Transfer funds to your bank account".
  • In the "Withdraw Funds by Electronic Transfer" screen, click "Add Bank Account".
  • In the "Add Bank Account (U.S. Bank Accounts Only)" screen, enter this information:
  • Account Type: Checking
  • Bank Name: xxxxxxx

    Routing Number:xxxxxxxxx
    Account Number:xxxxxxxxxx
    Retype Account Number:xxxxxxxxx

    Inter National Bank

    Then click "Add Bank Account".
  • Disregard the "Alert" screen; your Card Account is now set up to receive funds via PayPal.
After setup, transfer funds to your NetSpend Card:
  1. Login to PayPal account (www.paypal.com). Select "Withdraw".
  2. In the "Withdraw Funds" screen, click "Transfer funds to your bank account".
  3. In the "Withdraw Funds by Electronic Transfer" screen, enter the desired amount, select "INB Checking", and click "Continue".
  4. Click "Submit" to confirm the transfer.

Note:
  • There is no charge from either PayPal or NetSpend for the transfer.
  • The funds will post to your NetSpend Card within 3-4 business days max (typically 1-2 days).
  • The transaction will show as "DEPOSIT/CREDIT FROM PAYPAL" in your Account History screen.
  • The transfer cannot be reversed or cancelled once initiated.
  • Funds cannot be transferred from your NetSpend Account to PayPal.
Easy as that!

I guess any US Attorney General hoping to become governor will charge PayPal and fine them $10 million.

Its the American way!

Excellent info., thanks. Just wondering...does that card always get accepted at sportsbooks? (assuming it has enough on it of course)

Just went to the site and it had this:

NetSpend Prepaid Debit Cards are issued by Inter National Bank or MetaBank, members FDIC. (Please see back of card for your issuing bank.)

Since it's issued by a bank, wouldn't the bank be subject to the new anti-gambling law? I'd think so. So if it ever becomes really popular for gambling transactions, they'd either have to stop the service or end up like Neteller. Unless I'm missing something here...
