lets say you are playing at a quarter ($25) table with 3x, 4, 5x odds...do you think you can make money playing the pass line with max odds on the point as well as playing a come bet with max odds..i was thinking of this instead of just playing the numbers individually. I was looking at playing 25 on the pass with max odds of 75, 100, or 125 with the same as a come bet...i know craps is a tough game to win long term at..was looking to do this instead of playing some blackjack...i am not looking to become rich..just have some fun, pass some time and maybe make a few bucks at the same time.

thanks to all for your help in advance!

Personally I will play the pass line for my minimum unit ($25 in your case) with full odds (1 unit for each X odds - eg. 5 X odds equal 5 units) behind the line once a number is established and then play come bets with full odds for the same unit and full odds until I have my pass line bet working and up to 3 come bets working all with max odds behind each bet. At this point I will let the dice roll until I cash a bet or seven out. Should I cash a come bet I will rebet and try to get back to the pass line and 3 come bets again.

Gradually I will up my bets if I am winning. No props, exoctics, buys, hard ways, hop bets, nothing but pass and come line with full odds. Some palyers will keep playing the come line, but I stop at 3 numbers on the come. Personal call as to how much money you want on the table.

Obviously you are looking for a hand to show, a seven out brings me back down to my lowest unit on the pass line for a start over. I always re-start at my minimum unit after a seven out.

wil..

You can't make money playing craps. You can only lose. But in a weekend, you could get lucky and win. The best way to do that is the play the pass line and come bets with max odds, because the house edge is the lowest. You're on the right track. Much better game than blackjack. That game gets old after 10 minutes. Good luck to you.

let me throw my two bits in...............assuming a 25$ table with 3,45, x odds

first i would make a 25$ pass line bet assuming a 6 is thrown then max odds i would then place the "inside" numbers ie. 5,8,9 for 320$ 100 on the 5 and 9 and 120 on the 8 then make a 25$ come bet and if a 5 is thrown then i would "come" down with 200$ odds...etc and just keep firing away the 25$ come bets...........good luck you need about 3 repeaters to make money good luck.....and enjoy i would say about a 3000$ br to begin with...............

Don't get why you would say that BJ gets hold after 10 minutes. It all depends on the run of cards your getting and also what kind of table your on. Also whether you have good BJ players and whether they are carrying good chemistry too.

The only thing you need to know about craps is that every bet has a negative expected value.

Some bets are better than others, but in general the more dollars you have on the table the more you can expect to lose. Period. There are no systems. There are no advantages to betting inside numbers, come bets, covering, any craps etc.... - they all have a negative expected value so the more you bet, the more you expect to lose.

If you have to play craps bet the line and max behind the line and thats it. That gives you the best statistical advantage.

As others have pointed out this is better than placing the numbers individually.

You mean there really are blackjack players out there that have a clue? I used to play blackjack, and I've never seen another player hit a soft eighteen against a 10. Those tools ridicule me when I make plays like that, and almost all of them have no clue just how wrong they are. And they say things like "never split anything that starts with an f," as I split my 4's against a dealer 5. It's fine to be clueless and give your money away. But it's not fine to be clueless and think you know it all. That's why the only game to play, if you want to win, is poker. Poker will always be profitable because no matter how many resources are out there, the general public will always suck at it. Just like they suck at blackjack, even though learning basic strategy can be mastered in 30 minutes. I like to donate my money once in awhile, but my game of choice is craps. Much more adrenaline there. But to each his own. I suppose I would play more blackjack, if I actually liked the game. Just find it boring, though, unless my table is all people that I know. And we have to be drinking also.

You have to be careful hitting soft 18 against a 10.

The dealer might pass you by and will always hesitate for you to verify the hit.

Wil, thats a great way to play. Relatively safe as far as craps goes and has the potential to make $$$ on a nice run. You can run your bankroll a little longer. The only downside is that you dont get a high rating for your average roll. That only matters if you are playing for comps, which is never a good way to play.

My advice is to stay away from the inside bets...they will kill you over the long run. Craps is a great social game and when the table is hot it is the best time you will have in a casino.

Charlie, I've tried that way as well. Made some huge wins very fast and also got cleaned out pretty quick. The big drawback is when a point is established and the next roll is a seven. This way has the potential for quicker wins but is very volatile.

If you are going to play this way you would need a big bank roll to start as you mentioned.

I RESEMBLE TAHT REMARK ILLINI.

But I say this a lot, dealers are the worst gamblers out there. I'm lucky there are no casino's near where I live now. In Chicago there were a few (a few too many for me). This is my outlet for this stuff now.
