Terps crack the Top 25 this week at #24 after beating Duke UNC NC ST and Clemson....and appear to be headed for the dance for the first time in 3 years....it took a miracle 3 yrs ago for them to make it in too (ACC Tourney Champion)
Tough times down at Garyland...this program had mired in mediocrity the past several years now....you'd have thought they would have moved into the elite status after back to back Final Fours and a NCAA title and a brand new building , instead they went backwards!
Maryland has really struggled to develop many really good offensive players since Francis, Dixon, Baxter , Wilcox and even Blake moved on to the NBA.

Assuming it plays out how it is now, say GT gets to atleast the B East championship game and Maryland wins 2 ACC...I would think GT is either a #3 or a #2 if they win the Big East...if MD wins two ACC tourney games I would think MD is aleast #6 seed maybe a #5.
These days though, there almost no difference between a 3-6 seed....in the old days a team who had a #1 or #2 seed had a major advantage , not anymore.
