Good luck Ace. Do you know if there's any way of finding out which pitchers are gonna get work in these games? I know its all about pitch counts and spreading innings around, but any info helps in capping exhibition games. Thanks.

How long have you been following baseball and handicapping it? How much can I trust Ace?

Capping spring training games this early in camp is impossible. Maybe toward the end of March when pitchers start going 5 or 6 innings it can be done, but betting on these games is purely for action. No strategy can be implemented in picking winners here.

Rookie i've been capping baseball since 2002 season , and my record is pretty good , over 60% every season, but i cant guarantee you a good spring training, this is just for fun.... i will do my best when the season starts.
I need time to prove my value, i cant walk away in here and say i'm a damn good baseball capper, because nowone will believe me , but as the time passes you'll see.
Ross try teams homepages or covers forum , maybe you can find info there. Also i will start here two or three baseball system i use every year.
Sorry guys i have to run, i will be back before the first game starts .

Thanks Ace and good luck this season, I will prolly not touch the Spring Training games but I am looking at the Season Wins O/U, I can tell you the NL Central will be tough this year, being from Milwaukee I am a huge Brewers fan and would love to see them win over 81 games but the injuries always kill us, Sheets and Weeks I question this year and not to mention unreal Bill Hall, I hope he can handle Center

Hey Ace, just stopping by to drop my opinion on your plays like you asked me to. I don't really like capping Spring Training games as they are meaningless as hell, but here's what I think;

The White Sox pick I love, of course, lol. But seriously, Rockies manager Clint Hurdle is making it known that he wants his team running every chance they get. With "Silly" Willy Tavarez at the top of the lineup, I can see why he's giving everyone the green light (it's also spring training so who cares if you get thrown out time after time). I like the aggressiveness, but who's starting for the White Sox today? Mark Buehrle, the man with arguably the best pickoff move in the game. So they won't be able to do much on the basepaths. The Sox are also throwing out their Opening Day starting lineup from last year minus Scott Podsednik who is injured. Darin Erstad will start in left for him and leadoff. The first 5-6 innings of a ST game almost never matter. You can be up by 7 and then when you come out of the game, you watch some A-ball punk come in and give up 4 runs in the 7th, then some AAA journeyman comes in the 8th and gives up 3 runs, and you lose the game in the 9th. But I don't see that as a problem with the Sox who have a lot of guys competing for that 5th spot in the rotation (Gavin Floyd, Charlie Haeger, John Danks, Nick Masset) and a number of others competing to be in the bullpen. So every guy that throws today should be a meaningful pitcher with a lot to prove.

As for the Cardinals, I don't see much value in that play. Adam Wainwright is starting for the Cards and will be opposing Scott Olsen. The probables aren't the problem in this matchup, it's the fact that one of these two teams played deep into October last year. You never can trust a World Series Champion the following Spring Training as a lot of their guys usually aren't ready (to even do regular workouts) or just plain out are not 100% focused just yet. The same could be said for any team, but mainly the WS Champs who usually are still smiling and celebrating 5 months later. If I had to choose a winner, I'd actually go with the Marlins. They played the University of Southern Colorado yesterday and shut them out 14-0. Now I know beating a mediocre college baseball team doesn't mean much, but it shows you that their guys are ready and hungry. Don't forget that they have a new skipper who's success (or lack their of) will be compared to Joe Girardi's all season long. He's got a lot on his plate as well.

Having said all that, good luck to you Ace.

As i told in my previous post , i'm not interesteed in spring training record or something like that ,i'm just posting my personal opinion on every day's games. So i can be 30% or i can be 60% fo me this doesnt matter in spring training , i'm just enjoying some games, i will watch them to see how the teams developed. But glad you dropped you thought here thanks and GL to you, and advice for nba hoops just dont bet many games because IMO there are not many people who can have a good record picking lot of games daily. Just give your best shot of the day and you will see how the 84th pick will reach over 60%

Adding:

(-120) New York Mets

The Tigers are making the coast-to-coast trip and will be traveling without most of the regulars. Gunderson and Casey will be the only two of the projected starting nine to make the trip! This should be at least 2-1 day, i really look to increase my bankroll till the season.

Thanks for the advice with my NBA. I'm actually limiting my plays from now on. You're absolutely right about playing too many games. And as for The 84th Pick, I actually went back and checked what it's record is alone; 32-21-1, 60%, so I'm very happy about that.

I know for a fact that Bodog and Pinnacle have ST lines up. If Bodog has'em up, every other book should as well.

Not looking good , i think this is a 1-2 day ..but i'm not angry about it because i watched the games , and i see now how the teams prepared for those games , the Detroit Tigers improved very much but theyve played yesterday too so thats why they beat the Mets today , Mets coming too relaxed on that game , and Detroit hadnt all their key players on the field, Cardinals will win over 84 games , they play good ball. As for the White Sox i dont know what is wrong with them , trailing 4-11 after 4 , this is a lost game but hope they will show up next , always remember do not bet the first two days, because i dont know what to expect , teams are not in shape , Pittsburgh Pirates beat 8-1 in their match ,since they play tomorrow with Reds i will lean towards them. But until tomorrow ciao. ""Ace""

The wind was a factor, at least early, in the Sox game. It was blowing out pretty hard and the Rockies were able to drive some balls. It's not THE factor, but it was a factor.
