my reasons

to make yourself 'step up' make the right plays because you know other people are reading them. Also because if I feel that good about them hopefully they win and some other people can make some cash too.

Glory... bragging rights.... but mainly to help others out.

I've been wagering for almost 10 years and have learned a couple of things about capping such as knowing when to throw w-l records out the window and go with who wants it more. Like when I picked Spurs to beat the Pistons, who had won 7 in a row. Some laughed at me but it was a perfect spot for the Spurs to make a statement as they were in bad slump. This pick helped propel me to what is now $5000 bankroll... not bad since I had $17 at the start.

To contribute some thing back to he site. I have gained good info here and feel if I give some back than everybody gains. Keep that info flowing both ways!

For all the reasons mentioned above and also when I do post plays I enjoy the friendly competition with whom I consider some of the best handicappers on the net. If there is no animosity or flaming then it can be a very constructive thing.

to keep track of self...ie Chasing, Leaks. I made a pack with myself to post every bet I make. Sometimes I want to bet something and think, " that's a stupid pick, people will laugh at me if I post that." So I don't it keeps me in check. Also I've had success throughout the years and dont mind sharing the picks and reasoning. I've for sure learned from others here and bet other's plays when well reasoned.

Before I registered as a member of the RX, I lurked for approximately 2 years following the closure of Aces Gold. I had never read another forum of any kind before so this was all new to me. I also have never been in a chat room except when the RX had one.

What wasn't new was sports betting as I have been in this business for 35 years now. What made me register was I thought that I would enjoy writing down my breakdown of games that I had been doing for so long. In the first year, my write-ups were quite a bit more lengthy then they are today, but I enjoyed spending the time sharing my thoughts. I was oblivious to how my thoughts would be accepted. I simply wanted to share. Little did I know, the power of the internet and the reaction that would occur, because handicapping had for so long been a huge part of my life and success was what I had come to expect of myself. Once replies began to show up in my threads, I enjoyed and still do enjoy the interaction with my fellow posters.

Still to this day, I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts on games. Hopefully, my thoughts help the reader pick up a point or two that they may not have been aware of which helps them make a successful decision on the game. If we all shared information and thoughts freely, the RX would operate at it's finest. We have such a diverse group from all over the world with information and knowledge specific to their particular region and area of expertise, there are many, many gems still uncovered. I wish more would share their thoughts.

I don't. They'd just get lost in the shuffle of madness that is the Rx, so there is no point. I post an occasional one or two here and there mainly for superstitous reasons if I'm on a bad run or something.

Baseball season I'll be posting in tracker forum, as that is by far my favorite (and best) sport.

Get feedback from others if I'm kind of on the fence and let others know when I think that I'm on to a good angle.

One more reason.....If I'm going to be rooting for a team in an in-game thread, I like to be on record as taking them before the game (to prevent anyone from claiming that I was past posting my side).
