going to dabble a little in the market on my own (already have some $$in mutal fund) and was looking for any suggetions to what site to use.

Seems Scottrade is the one most refered for smaller investors like myself who plan on making a few trades a month. Does this sound about right?

And thats why they play the game.

Either Scottrade or TDAmeritrade. Seems Scottrade on price and TDAmeritrade if you need some more bells and whisles.

Their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square.

Ameritrade best at $9.99...but BOA now has FREE trades for all those daytraders. Must have $25K in other BOA accounts, but they have a 5.43% MMA currently that was inherited in the MBNA merger. highest MMA in the nation currently....throw 25 dimes in there and unlimited free trades.

avoid e-trade at all costs, they will nickle and dime you to death and pay like .1% on cash balances. I wouldnt pick a brokerage just for the cheapest commission either, what matters is the results of your trades not a couple bucks on each end.

Go with a Direct Access Broker, much better fills on prices, better charting packages and better pricing. Companies like Ameritrade, Scottrade and Etrade are nothing more than a middleman.

I'm partial to Thinkorswim. They have everything I need, plus they provide exc. customer service. One of the only brokers I know that charges the same comm. if its a internet order or if your away from a computer and you have to call in a order and speak to a live person.

I have two TD Ameritrade accounts; one for my Pension and the other for my after tax/discretionary money. I am a huge fan, never have had a problem with them. I highly recommend them.

Good luck and always use limit orders!!!
