Got hooked up with 4 free kickass seats (sec 14 Loge-row 8...100 face) at TD Banknorth to see the Bs drop a heartbreaker 9.9 sec from a shootout w/ the Flyers.Now I declined an offer to see the Cs team that killed DJ a couple of weeks ago but I like hockey much more than the NBA,so I bit this time.The arena was about half filled.Folks with nosebleeds frequently migrated downward during the game which is fine with me.400 dollars worth of tickets is sweet but the real cost of a "free" night out goes something like this:
Began the afternoon around 4, 4 of us at the bar:
I buy two rounds of various beer...30.00
One round of Jagr 25.00
Leave the bar, grab a few roadies for the traffic, 10.00 12 pk.
Arrive in Boston, park in garage 25.00
Go to Hooters for some wings split 80.00 bill 4 ways-20.00
Inside we go, about 5 mins to gametime,this is when it gets good.
During the game I make 4 trips to the beer stand to get two beers per trips @ 6.00 a beer (mud light)-50.00
Having such good seats it would be a crime not to capture some photos on my cell.So I click off a few.Theres only one cupholder per person so my second beer I place on the ground,between my feet and I place my cell on my lap during a lull in the action.Take a sip of the beer in the holder and hold it in my hand.A second later a see a drop or two of beer splash upwards from the floor onto the ladys coat in front of me.I look on the floor see nothing but my beer.Im thinking someone threw something over my shoulder but see nothing.Then I look at the floor again,I see my beloved I930 sitting in the bottom of the cup between,direct hit,swish.
Fantastic.
Long story short after the game I dropped about another 60.00 bar hopping a little.I dont want to do the math,Id rather not know the #.My phone was free from my company but the replacement may not be.
