they figure or what the hell, he is from a third world country he is getting too much cash anyway. in addition they can 'scare' other athletes with moves like these... :smoker2:

ill say up to $ 50,000 would be enough!

Considering they could've voided the entire $30M contract.... he's relieved.

I am very surprised they didn't try to cancel out his $30 million contract. He even said himself he was very grateful they didn't.

He directly violated his contract and will be out of his services for 2 months. WTF was he thinking going snowboarding during the season?

He got off cheap and should not be paid for any games he misses...

6.9ppg, 42.5%fg...... I say cut his ass!!!!!!!

But they won't because Lakers are a class organization. They even paid for Turiaf's heart surgery, not knowing if he would ever play again.

i dont know though. this kind of crap happened before, righ? when did the cut off anyones contract due to 'minor' violations. didnt Ben from the steelers do the same thing and how much did he get fined? I'm not defending radmanovic, clearly he did something wrong but a half million ??? How much did ben from the steelers get fined for riding the bike?

Yeah but Ben's contract didn't contain a motorcycle clause.

And he missed only 1 game? And that was due to his appendectomy and not his accident.

i just found out the same. but thats not the point if ben's contract had a clause or not. its just that i think that someone that vioates a contract the way radmanovic did, shall not be fined that much! But, thats just my first impresion. i'm not really familiar with the fines in cases like this, but again, it seems a lot to me.

ps one would really think they shallnot be rifing bikes either. interesting.

The biggest thing is that VRad is going to miss 2 months of the regular season on a playoff contending team. 2 months is a long time...

You don't seem to understand.... Lakers could've FIRED his ass and VOIDED the entire $40 MILLION contract!!!!!!!!

There are reasons why they have clauses in contracts, it's to prevent morons like him from doing something stupid and getting hurt. Now he'll miss the rest of the season while the Lakers in the middle of a playoff race. The least he could do is repay the money for all the games he's going to miss.

What Ben did doesn't matter, it's NOT in the contract! Plus he did it in the OFF SEASON and played almost the entire season.

Considering he's been a MAJOR dissapointment, Lakers should've VOIDED the contract and fired his ass.

You are obviously missing the point. They fined him $500k instead of voiding $30 million. I think most would be appreciative.

The point is, he knew they had that option.

The fine is to LIGHT!

Two months is about 1/3 of the season. I'm not sure how much he is making, but I would have fined him 1/3 of his salary. If he is making just 3 mil a season that would be almost 1.5 million.
Why should the team pay for his missed time because he was snowboarding?
