while i absolutely LOVE the commercials(and still laugh to this day everytime i see one),this has got to be one of the most insane ideas i ever heard

LOS ANGELES (March 2, 2007) -- It's a role so easy, even a caveman can do it.

ABC is developing a sitcom based on the Geico cavemen ads, according to Variety.

"Cavemen" would reportedly follow three pre-historic men who battle prejudice as they try to live like normal thirtysomethings in modern day Atlanta.

Joe Lawson, the advertising copywriter behind the popular Geico ads, will also write the sitcom. Lawson also developed the Geico gecko and the "Tiny House" insurance TV spots.

No word yet on whether the same actors from the commercials will star in the sitcom. :monsters-

If I recall something similar was done in the 60s. Was called "It's About Time". It bombed.

Didn't SNL have a recurring skit about an unfrozen caveman lawyer? I think it was Phil Hartman.
