I talked to a Bookmaker rep last night about depositing via WU and I like how they reimburse fees over $300, but I am curious how secure and safe this transaction would be.

With MLB around the corner, its about time to start my bankroll depsit and I am looking for the safest and most secure method.

Anyone had any problems with WU deposits? Or any suggestions as to a better method?

Thanks

Ironman - Thanks for the post. In my short 2 years of wagering I have only been familiar with Neteller, so I am new to anything outside of that. I am assuming WU is prompt? Funds typically available same day?

Do you normally make the deposit online at WU site or do you go in person to a WU location? or does it matter?

Thanks

Yes, prompt. I go to a WU location (they're all over the place, can search on their site for closest). Fill out paperwork and let them send the money (5 mins). Get back in my car, call the book and let them know the control number. Within 30 minutes usually (up to an hour), the money is in the account. Never done it through their website. At location, you can bring cash or they can deduct from your debit card.

As long as you stay under 500$ you will likely not get any problem going in or going out. Its the big $$ that gets attention at WU. I have decided to go back to what you do as NT is gone and I see no other easy way. Fortunately for me, I have managed my BR much better since NT went goodbye and have yet to need to visit the local WU store.

anything under $1000 is good to go at western union. $999 is perfect $1000 and over I.D. is required.

your probably still ok......... but you said, you need to get ready for mlb...

just break it up, over a few transactions....... youve got enough time to be all set for MLB......... or just fedex them a check........

or get several of the prepaid visas at walgreens and use a combo of all 3...

not that hard to deposit......... im more concerned with WD's

ok...

I like the idea of a cashier's check cause I can track it via fedex...

I still use CRIS so I would man up and pay the $60 for a withdrawal...I don't withdraw until the end of a season so it would only be a one time withdrawal.

I've always gone to a location. The one time I did do it online, I had to call in and tell the operator that I actually know the person I was sending it to (Yeah right, like I know Pedro Gonzales Rodriguez in Panama). There is a location near my job so it is very convenient to me. One bad thing about WU is some locations service can be spotty and the reason behind that is because WU is a service that takes away from their main duties. I kid you not there is a Safeway here that has had its machine down off and on (mostly off) for the last 3 months. So when you find a good location, stick with it.

Parylayin hit it on the head with being able to use the debit card for your payment.
