Hey guys,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Since i was blacklisted at WU, i know i can't send money in my name, but what about receiving it? How can i get around the blacklisted part? How about sending it to a different city than mine, like <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City w:st="on">Urbana</st1:City> instead of <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Champaign</st1:place></st1:City>...<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Maxdemo, you have some suggestions on this?<o:p></o:p>

if you are blacklisted you can't send or receive funds

if you send it to a different city the name will still match and you will be required to provide ID and such.

best thing is to find a place that will send the WU under somebody else's name (wife, brother, friend, etc.)

Sure the name would match, but who is checking the ID, the people at the counter...WU themselves would be the one's blocking it, not the people at the grocery store..

May I ask why you are blacklisted?
They said, about two years ago, that i sent too much money and wanted to know all this shit about why and who i was sending it too...I never gave up the info they wanted so i was blacklisted, like many others here...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
No biggie, but i can't send in my name anymore, and have never received, but would think its tied to me and my city, if i had it sent to another city, i might be ok.<o:p></o:p>

sure it's WU and not the ppl at the grocery store
for that same reason the transaction is blocked AT and BY western union, not by the people at the grocery store.

the grocery store will ask you for your ID and fax it to the WU's offices. If your info matches with the info that's being blocked by WU, then you won't get your money

hope that makes sense

Are you sure about the faxing portion of that? Is that STANDARD policy for anyone?

I ve never seen a WU fax anything...they enter in your drivers license #, that would be how they identify you...if the amount is under a dime that would be avoided.

If the amount is under a grand, you don't need to provide any ID at all? Is this true?

For non-blacklisted people that is

If the sender sends the funds and includes a test question, you don't need ID on anything under 1K, just the answer to the question...Some books will do this.

not true for all states... some states require WU (and any money transmitter) to collect and keep ID on file for several years no matter what the amount.

IF you have a test question sent with the transfer , there is NO ID required ,call Western Union and ask.

Some of the payout places(check cashing places) are required to take the ID, but many are not (like grocery stores).

Some of these places are state licensed , and must take ID.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

Only 3 ways to get the money or by the blacklist that I know of...

1. Call western union BEFORE you ask for the WD from the book. Ask for the compliance depatment and just make up a story that the money was used to freight charges or tell them your a shipper and most of your biz is done in Latin America.

2. Ask a freind a favor and send the money in his name.

3. Get to know the clerk and at Western Union...I know a few that will cash a transfer in a made up name....or have book send it to a name close to yours.. If you are Brock Landers have them send it Landers Brock....GL
