Me too back in 98-99 i guess...they pd a few times, then 1 day i call in a trifecta ticket...i didnt like making multi way tickets cus they'd get em wrong sometimes..i give em 4 tickets like 1/2/3, 2/1/3, 3/1/2 and 3/2/5 or something...anyway it hit for about 1800 if i remember right but when i ck it shows 3 losers and a cancelled ticket.....seems the 4th 1 came through just a lil to late and it was the winner of course....pointing out that i had made the tickets at like 5 hrs before the race didnt help much either and needless to say that was the last i dealt with em....

I played with them starting in the fall of 1996, I remember being paid with a personal check when they paid me.

Looking back they were very bush league even when they paid.

Remember one time betting the favorite on the MNF game and called back later and they were only offering the ML on the OPPOSITE side now being favored, could have middled it but it never worked out, they did this 3 times, I never hit it though.

ESB was my first offshore sportsbook. Was with them for a few years and they always paid. I can remember one baseball season where I ordered a check from them 12 straight weeks and they paid like clockwork. Had a buddy that stayed with them way too long and got screwed. He had over $3000 in his account and tried to order a check... they told him that the only time you could order a check was from between 10 AM and noon on mondays only. So the next week he tried to order a check between 10 AM and noon on monday and they said he would have to wait a week because that monday was an antiguan holiday or some shit. So he bet the rest of the week and lost everything he had in his account. Pretty shady organization they turned out to be.

Not only did I have an account with ESB, I later threw out Dennis Atiyeh and some of his family out of the Allentown OTW on a few occasions before knowing who exactly he was and his hand with ESB. Certainly came full circle.

How about that fake Las Vegas newspaper they would send you that always listed them as the best offshore book.

Ahh yes, I am almost ashamed to admit I paid a $97 "membership fee."

ESB was my second book, right behind betmaker. I was one of the fortunate ones, being that I was always paid (cigar included). In fact, my first-ever offshore payout came from ESB.

Never had a problem with them until once, the day after the super bowl, I called up to request a payout. Was told that because of the high volume of requests, I should call back on Wed. I did, and I did receive my $$ -- however, the incident luckily scared me away, and it was the last time I ever called the place.

SH: lol....

My first book too...probably put about $1000 through there over two seasons making all $5 and $10 bets pre-internet.

Never got paid because I eventually burned out all my cash playing parlays and by then I was internet and educated about better Outs.

Dennis Atiyeh or his brother wrestled in the Olympics I believe. I remember the hurricane problems they had at St. Maarten and had no clue what anybody's balance was afterwards. ESB was one of the few games in town. Denfield was one of their 1st managers but didn't work out for long. It was his brother Mike who ran the show afterwards for a long time. The Atiyeh's started slow paying and then no paying. The LVSN Las Vegas Sporting News was owned by ESB. Wasn't a bad newspaper actually. We appear to be going back to those dark ages if a few more books refuse to take American business. What a shame! Don't vote Republican if you are a gambler.

ESB was one of the BEST offshore in the mid 90's. Recieved cigars with some payouts. Always waited for the DSL driver to bring me my check in 48 hours. I NEVER had any problems getting paid as I stopped playing there well before they went belly up. BUT back then they were a great out.
