Why do grocery clerks get pissed when you buy too much? I thought that's a good thing

I went to a 99 cent store today for the first time in months. So I went a little overboard and spent over $140... which means over 140 items the clerk had to scan. Boy was she pissed at the end. I was about to tell her if it weren't for us, she wouldn't have a job. But I kept my mouth shut. Now I gotta win a bet to pay for all the crap i bought.

You have to tip upfront for good service. She was pissed because she has to go restock the shelves.

The manager is happy the clerk doesn't give a shit since they still get paid the same if you spent 5 dollars or 140.
