I always wonder - what goes on at those Gambler's Anonymous meetings, or when you call the phone numbers on the back of wager tickets?

Are they like MAN DON'T TAKE DUKE IT'S NOT A LOCK!!! Do you all sit in a circle and talk about your biggest losses? How does that make me not want to gamble?

I've done some thinking, and looked back at my records. Overall, I think I'm up lifetime gambling on wagers I place when sober. BUT I'm definitely down if you factor in the drunk wagers (I put a dime on Brazil in the last world cup, and I don't even anything about soccer) and online casino losses (don't even get me started on that topic).

So I don't think I have a gambling problem, and I don't think I have a drinking problem, but I DEFINITELY have a drunk gambling problem! Where's the support group for that?!?! :think2:

That reminds me of a joke I heard once.

So this guy was complaining that he hates his job, he's all depressed, and he asks his buddy why there's no support group for his problem.

The second guy says, yea, there is. It's called the Bar, we all meet there at around 5pm. :drink:

Dude, for those that want to stop gambling, GA is a good place to start. IT will help but that person needs to change his or her life totally. No gambling friends, no lotto, no raffles, no sports reading etc. Bt one needs to want to stop. GA doesn't cure you it just helps with your addiction. Go to a meeting and sit in and listen to some of the stories that they tell. One guy put his kid through the TV because he walked in front of it while he was losing a ton of money. Another guy got 300,000$ for his wife's life saving surgery, what did he do, pissed it away gambling and guess what his wife died cause she didn't get the surgery needed in time. Just go and listen to some of the stories, you'd be amazed.

During the 2005 NCAA tournament, there were a series of ads telling people "Don't Bet On It". While in Vegas there would be periods when only one feed would be shown since there was only one game taking place at the time. Seeing the phrase, "Don't Bet On It" on every screen, and monitor in the sportsbook was funny to say the least.

of the page like other gambling sites have

example would be MW

Maybe thats because the RX doesn't give a rats ass about their posters having a problem or not? But they should have a link there for one to use if needed.

It is a losing problem, not a gambling problem. Anybody showing up at those meetings hitting 57%?

On a side not, where is the credit card abuse awareness week? 1000 times more lives ruined by credit card abuse than gambling.
