Today I was trying out a couple of new clubs on the golf course(not the range) when I did something that I've never seen. On a demanding(206 yd) par three I hit my first shot a little left and it rolled into a bunker. I teed up a second ball and hit it towards the pin and really didn't pay attention to where it landed. When I drove down to the green, I didn't see a ball, so I looked in the hole, and there she was. The ball had flown directly into the hole because there was a divot at the very front of the cup. The funny part is the club I used(Taylor Made hybrib) won't be in my bag this year.(can't hit it high enough)

why do you feel like you get 2 shots off the tee? Do you pay double the greens fees? I suppose you took the ace score and didn't bother playing out your bunker shot.

On the bright side, at least you didn't have to buy a round of drinks in the clubhouse.

VIEJO, I think I have made 14. But for the amount of golf I have played in my lifetime(started very young), it doesn't seem like that many. Good Luck

WVU, I was just out practicing on the golf course. I played 7 or 8 holes and never even putted out. My golf season starts in about three weeks. Good Luck

just busting your chops Belly. I used a par 3 in Gainesville as a driving range with a couple buckets of balls to try to get an ace. Never got one. I did manage to hit an alligator several times though. You could say that I am at least 0-5000 on getting a hole in one.

Are you serious?!?! 14!

I have been playing golf since I was 6. That's 32 years. I currently carry a 4 handicap, and was once a scratch golfer. I have never had 1! That pisses me off.

I recall a couple of times watching the pros play the "Island Hole", (17th at TPC?) when they put their first ball in the water and then had a hole in one on their second ball for a par on the hole. Amazing!

By the way, count me in for another golfer with zero aces though I came within an inch or less twice.

I play 65-70 rounds a year not including scrambles. I have come close so many times but never one myself. I have been witness to more than 15-20.

Seven of my hole-in-ones were made on holes that no longer exist. The golf courses do, but they have been redesigned over the years. I've made them with every club from a driver(persimmon) to a pitching wedge. By the way, I'm back using a regular putter so I guess I'm a posting fraud. Good Luck

VIEJO, I played TPC Sawgrass before they softened it up and it was impossible. If you ever get a chance to play the Ocean Course at Kiwah Island(Pete Dye), make sure you go.

Belly- That is one I would like to play. I did read however that Pete himself says his best course design is Teeth of The Dog in the Domenican Republic.

My favorite experience was the Old Course at Saint Andrews. Ugly by American standards but you could feel the history as you walked it. Gave me goose bumps to tee off.
