I know they have talked with agents of Corey Dillon and Kris Brown.

Wonder if they use that 1st round pick on a back like Bush out of Louisville.

Also trade talks with McGahee from Bills.

:monsters- I thought it was a lock the Browns were taking Adrian Peterson in the draft. Will be interesting to see what unfolds now.

Many NFL teams are going with a two RB setup like NO and Chi last year as examples so the Browns can still take Peterson.

Signing J-L shouldn't make anyone pass up on Peterson....So far this has been an awful off season for Baltimore.

I would be suprised if they still took AD, but I guess it could happen. Maybe they go after Johnson now.

They got Mike Anderson.... he can get 1000 yds, no problem. Rushed for 1000 yds with Broncos just two seasons ago.

This move makes it more likely that Peterson is the Browns choice.

Droughns is due a 1.75 Mil bonus coming up, so they will cut him. So essentially they swapped Droughns for Lewis.

Lewis signed a 1 year deal. So they will draft Peterson, let him play along side Lewis for a year, then he takes over as the feature back in '08.

If they weren't thinking this way, they wouldve made a run at Thomas Jones or Travis Henry with long term deals.

The move sets up Willis MaGahee going to the Ravens.
I will take it if Cory Dillon signs and we get a 2nd rounder from Balt.

Yeah, the Browns get a washed up Lewis. I can't wait for him to do nothing for us this year.

Why long term with the other two?

Jamal Lewis is younger than Thomas Jones and Travis Henry

I don't think Lewis is washed up at all...but will probably struggle with Cleveland ...in the right system he would still be a very good back.

People forget he came out two years early and is only 27.

Football can be a brutal sport. One season you have one of the greatest running seasons EVER. A short time later you are maybe washed up and struggling.

Baltimore is amazing. They are and have been offensively inept for years and years and no one cares. Billick gets and extention and Marty gets run out of town. They have no clue whatesoever on offense and have not for years...just run out the clock before halftime Coach B as your team is losing. Gameplans are worse than a high school team that cannot pass. Good luck Ravens...great Defense anyway!

I can't possibly see how the Ravens can be better in 2007...drafting late, McNair a year older, lost 3 key players to FA already, lost what was arguably their best player in A.Thomas...the window may have just shut.

The Ravens lost that Colts game when they decided to try and pass when they had the Colts on the ropes inside the 5 yard line...the play calling from first and goal on cost them that game...they go up 7-0 they win that game.

I agree with everything you said...I think this is the beginning of a slide for this organization.

what about that kid out of georgia, musha smith?

he had some upside and promise or is his career now over due to injury?

while true he is younger, he has 500 more career carries then the other two. And since the great '03 season, he has avg only 3.7 yards per carry.

Dont think he can still carry the load by himself with major success, but as part of a 1-2 punch with Peterson, getting 10-15 carries a game, I think he could be much more effective.

Not sure what's going on with him...I do feel had the potential to be their next featuer back, I'm not sure how he's doing...obviously Balto is not going to count on him....

And Anderson was never the answer, I don't think the Ravens were happy with Anderson's blocking, although I never heard them say it.

On the bright side the Ravens have always drafted well...I will be surprised to see them win more than 10 games though...

Last season was their big chance for a while, Billick's play calling vs Indy , just awful...he played that game much too conservative, almost like he knew the Ravens would eventually wear down Indy, and they may have if they just got up on them , they played not lose....shoot they even overcame the horrible start and gained control, only to give it back.
