The most significant bottom seed was way back in the '78 ACC Tourney.
Virginia was seeded dead last and they were real bad, and remember back then the only team that advanced on to the dance was the conference tournament champion, Virginia stunned the #1, #2 and #3 seeds that year, led by Wally Walker.
And 3 years ago Maryland was on the outside (not going to the dance)looking in and beat Duke ,NC State and Carolina , pretty tough chore down in North Carolina to beat all three schools on successive days.
I think Maryland will come back and get it done...then again I'm a Terps homer....this was definitely a look past game, they've had several must win type games in a row before today.
