I wonder if this is going to be a trend where hot games in certain markets will only be in PPV.

NO NHL Centre Ice customers DO NOT get this game if they live in Ottawa.

Im not 100% sure about Toronto but I dont think so.

The game is only PPV and is also being played in movie theatres.

That sucks. You would think NHL would showcase a big rivalry game and put it on free TV. Its not like that game will not be a sellout.

Anything to make a buck and gouge the real fans.

Tell me about it, I have to go to a movie theater or order the game for 10.95$ on pay per view....

what a joke, but that is exactly what it is, they know fans here in Ottawa will pay, so they don't care about it.

What kills me the most is that when the NHL came back from the lockout their big campaign was that they will win the fans back and "Thank you Fans" was written all over the ice.

Now less then two years later nothing has changed. I have Leaf season tickets and they have raised the price for next years tickets an average of 6%. Because of the cap they cant spend more so why the increase?

Its always been about making money here and not as much about winning the Cup.

Its actually cheaper to drive to Buffalo for a Sabres game then to go to the ACC. Better team and a great atmosphere

I'd like to see them make an NHL regular season game PPV in the US.

Good luck with that one :bigfinger

It's almost that bad with "Versus"(formerly the Outdoor Life Network) having the contract. The NHL needs ESPN a lot more than ESPN needs them-as least as far as the US market.
