I love the first 2 days of the NCAA tourny. So many games going on at the same time. I usually spend the entire time drinking watching hoops from 12- 1 AM. All to do the same damn thing the next day…

i don't know if they beat the first couple of days of the college football season - though I am biased on that matter - but it comes pretty close. :suomi:

I think if college football switched to a playoff system it would close the gap for me but the hoops tourny has it all...

:toast:yeah, odku, i know where you're coming from. a do-or-die tourney where you can have a MEAC school going up against UNC. :aktion033it def. gives me a rush as a handicapper.

Totally agree with first 2 days being the best event -- on Sat. mrng, I love/hate going thru my 20+ printouts of bracket contests to see if I have a snowballs chance.

Wish CBS would go back to viewing format of early 90's where they had the picture 'n pict of other games going down to the wire while they kept your game as main focus. Made it much more exciting than getting update after game was decided or showing us final 12 seconds.

After making it out to Vegas for about 10 straight first weekends of the tournament, this marks the second consecutive that I'm missing. Although March Madness is the best time of the year, it's sad knowing I'll be watching the games on a package at home instead of a sportsbook in Vegas. Have fun!

For those within driving distance, plenty of rooms available at non-Harrah's properties and the prices aren't bad all things considered. Unfortunately, the airfare cost is prohibitive...

It's the best day as a sportsfan/hoops fan because of the do or die atomstphere that exists. So sad football doesnt see this.

As for the gambler, it is very overrated. Nothing worse than the office pool guy in every bar acting like a genius because he picked some sleeper in a 1st round upset and he tells eveyone around him like he is some cbb hoops experts. Love that and see it every year.

Compared to a typical Saturday in the winter, the tourney is letdown for the gamblers but for a fan a good time. Not trying to sound old but love the good old days of CBB when players stayed 4 years and players/teams has a little history behind them, hard to keep up with the sport compared to 15 years ago.
