Is This Normal For a Book To Do?

Called Betjam to inform them that the Miami-BC game was 230-3 minutes in, w/scoring having already occurred...and that they still had lines up for game, half, totals, etc.

The manager told me that they're just keeping the lines up to get more action on the game.

Was a little surprised considering last night they had a similar "mishap" with a game that was 3 minutes into the 2nd half with a 2nd half line still up, and they immediately pulled the line down and awarded a freeplay.

Is it normal for books to keep lines up longer than usual to get late action?

good question...big difference between game and halfs...a lot of shops take the halfs down 2-3 mins b4 game goes and leave the game open a little after it starts to draw more action...

does not sound normal for a offshore to do this...i have had a few locals that would take a nfl game about 5 mins or so into the 1st quarter or so just as long as there was no scoring...i had one local a long time ago who would take a baseball game well into the 3rd or 4th inning just as long as there was no score...

in football it is very common...some books will keep games up until a team crosses the 50.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

But for them to have the 1st half action up 3 min into the game is not normal...I have made some good $$ when books do this....JMO

Olympic in the past has definitely done this to take in more action.Since Betjamaica is a sister site doesn't surprise me at all.

I have seen many books leave basketball games up extra time for just the very reason mentioned. This is especially true with nationally televised games that get a lot of attention. A line manager will leave a game up 2 or 3 minutes into a game if he sees clerks on the phone writing action. 1st half sides and totals could be a problem if left up to long. Once the game is closed it is closed everywhere in the book, clerk computers and on the players internet screens.

specially if you have had technical difficulties like phones going down for a while, books will leave games open a bit more to try and accommodate as many people as possible.

Do you just kind of wait around to see these and report them trying to get free dough.

Not that there is anything wrong with that...

Been with Betjm for 3 years and noticed they do this a lot..... which is great because you can bet after seeing a team go on a 8-0 run or something. No guarantee they win but if you already liked the team why not.

I was in Vegas for a Super Bowl one year where they took bets well into the 1st quarter.

i see no problem informing a book of a bad line but man who has the time to sit and watch all 1st halfs and 2nd halfs to see if they take them off the board on time LMFAO! i guess the Bonus Plays they give you add up:missingte

no, was looking at lines last night and noticed they had a line on a Big West game that already had one team up 6 points on the 2nd half line with only 2 minutes into the half. called them up to notify them, they gave me a Bonus Play.

Today i was looking at lines and happepned to be watching the exact same game that the line was still up for, again, 3 minutes in and a good amount of scoring. Did i neccessarily expect another Bonus Play? No, would have been nice sure but i just did it because i did it last night and figured why would i not? that's why i created this thread.

As for A-Train, you aren't funny, aren't knowledgable about anything sports-related, and according to my calculations you lost the Lousville ML play which ALSO means you aren't posting at the site anymore. Bye.
