From what i was hearing it sounds like this is a weak punishment. Personally, i think its fair, but i am also an islander fan.

i think the isles have about 15 games remaining. so that should mean he misses at least the first round of the playoffs if the suspension includes playoff games.

and wasn't he the guy that called Grier a racial slur during a game?

I remember when pierre turgeon was blindsided after a goal during the playoffs by dale hunter. I was at the game. And it knocked turgeon out for the playoffs and cost the isles a chance at a cup. THey basically slapped hunter on the wrist.

Basically, a player needs to die before the NHL throws down the hammer.

There were some discussions here as to whether he should be banned for life. It's not as if Simon actually aimed at Hollweg's chin. Few inches higher, he would have seriously injured him. Few inches lower, he could have killed him.

15 regular season games + 7 playoff games. In a few weeks from now, the NHL will simply say: "Here's your stick. Have fun!"

22 games is'nt bad considering the guy he hit is'nt going to miss a game I dont think he is anyway, but if he was hurt it would have been a lot more.

75% of the supension usually comes from how bad the injury from the incident was not how bad the intent of the incident itself was like Burtuizi if Moore didnt get hurt maybe a couple games at most.

That's funny. So what is it-a leak, or a reporter who is full of shit & leaked a bogus story?

Campbell is a complete joke. He's half the reason that the NHL isn't what it should be in terms of popularity.

Scumbags like Simon should be gone for life. He has a history of this crap. He has a history of drug abuse. He has a history of alcohol abuse. He has a history of anger management issues.

The sport doesn't need him and should revoke his PRIVLEDGE to be part of it.

Too light imo. That was as dirty as it gets, lucky he didn't do serious damage to the other guy.
