He will follow Lilly in the bottom of the 4th inning of the game vs KC today...

Lilly was very sharp again... his 2nd outing of the spring today...

Prior is the main focus...

He will be trying to get his velocity out of the mid-80's and establish his command...right now Wade Miller is the favorite for that 5 spot...

Game is on Comcast Chicago

Prior looked alright in that inning...walked one and gave up a hit...

Gun had him at a high of 88...

Could not throw his curve for a strike...command was decent...

Plesac believes that Prior's velocity will get out of the 80's...

He looks smaller to me.

Maybe the steroid talk about him has some truth behind it.

Prior back out for a 2nd inning...

Did not look good at all...gave up 4 runs...

David DeJesus crushed a high 85 mph fastball for a HR...

He walked two guys...

Allowed a hit and bases clearing double to Alex Gonzalez...

So he has gone 2IP 4H 4Runs 2BB 0K

It looks like he wants to really throw his fastball...but it just isn't there...Plesac is saying that he is going to have to re-learn how to pitch with what he has...right now that is not much. Unless something dramatically changes in the next two weeks...I do not see Prior breaking camp with the Cubs.

In Prior's 1st spring start he went 1.1 IP 4H 3R 2BB 0K

Prior was done after 2 innings...

4R
2BB

The good thing about this year's club...Hendry was smart...

They were not going to count on Prior...

Because I do not think he gets the 5th starter's spot.
