VIEJO, are you talking about Las Vegas Country Club? If so, I've played it many times. I always liked the old Desert Inn course. Did you ever play the course at the Dunes Hotel?

Played them both many times. Agree Desert Inn was nice. I'll add Pebble, Mountain Course at La Quinta, Torrey Pines South, North and The Vintage, the latter being the most exclusive I've ever played.

Old Head, Ireland
Tralee, Ireland
Eldorado, Cabo
Pacific Dunes, Oregon
Bandon Trails, Oregon
Wolf's Creek, Mesquite

If I had to pick I guess Wolf's Creek is my favorite - though Oregon or Ireland is as good as it gets as long as the weather is good.

I prefer Rum Pointe to Lighthouse Sound in OC any day of the week. The new course along US 50 in the new housing development just prior to the Bridge going into OC is really nice as well (Glen Riddle). Man O' War is nice as well.

Of the course I have played I'd go

Crooked Stick (Ind)
Bulle Rock (MD)
Cave's Valley (MD)
Baltimore Country Club (MD- obviously)
Rum Pointe (MD)

Journey

Last time I stopped by Carroll Park about 5 years ago (actually they extended the course to 12 for a while but had to close the back two holes as so many people were getting robbed along the train tracks so it's 10 holes now) , I ended up playing poker in the little ratty clubhouse for about 3 hours w/ three guys old enough to be Richard Pryor's great-grand fathers.

It cost me 11$ to walk the course and another $30 or so in poker.

 not surprised....sounds like the time I got stuck watching the Redskins game across from RFK because we couldn't buy a ticket....we watched the game from the golf course clubhouse (felt like Cherry Hill) we survived though.
