PPP, whats your strategy in these bigger tourneys with so many people, Do you tend to be very conservative in the beginning or you just play your regular game?

damn man , Matt or for the matter just about anybody else in the world would be better than me to give ya that answer...lol i think ive played it 3-4 times and cashed once for less than 400...lol

but you would play it like any big tourny. tight early but if anybodys just throwing their chips away you got to get in there and go for them...
for the middle sections you just play straight poker and hope you keep moving up with the avg chip stack..
within a few hundred of the bubble you have to start looking for weak players just looking to cash and start making some moves...
once your in the money your own your own.....but if you play a hand at all dont show weakness or you'll have every player at the table gunning for ya everytime you look at your cards....at this point the really good players are looking to attack any sign of weakness...avoid em like the plague ( see my last hand in the monday tourny for proof of this point)

Well I played in the Sunday million. At one time early one I was 4th in chips. Then I was 80th in chips with 270,000 when one guy goes all in for 96,000. He had been playing real loose and another guy called him as well. SO I called and with ace-queen suited and the other caller had ace-queen suited.

Well the original all-in this time had ace-king of course and triples up. Then I lose a few hands and finish in 650th or so. It paid $640 or so

Not bad.

One thing that amazes me is this.

The field started out with 10,508 Players. So in just over 5 hrs, 10,000 Players get eliminated. :monsters-

Just seems a little fishy!

There are different strategies that each player uses and it is QUITE obvious what they are using during the first 30 minutes of play.

Some people say to ONLY PLAY premium hands and raise big. I dont like that strategy too much because there are SO FEW people playing hands that when you do get a monster everyone will certainly fold.

My thought is to play REAL AGGRESSIVE early and steal the blinds and call bets. It wont win you too much, but it will make you appear to be a loose player. Later, people will end up calling you after about 1 hour into the tourney.

Only problem with the above strat is that you will change tables each 30 minutes or so usually.

But I would rather be out early than finish on the bubble after 4 hours of playing

Well Rude, it is actually earier to understand than you think. With SO MANY people involved, you have 1000 tables to start. Thus, LOTS of hands for guys to be knocked out with.

Likewise, when you hit the bubble, they go hand for hand and usually 10 people end up going out on that hand alone.

I would say that at least until you get to 3000 people, than around 50 people go out per hand after 1 hour or so. It GOES real quick!

When you actually hit the money, we lost 100 players in under 3 minutes

dont know about real aggresive at first. these fools go all-in with absolute nothing.
its nice to hit 3-4 big ones in the first hour and sit back and just play hands , nothing stupid till you get the real players

not sure percentage of these people quailify threw 3 dollor rebuys but i'm sure it's a big part of the field and if you play them things you know what i'm talking about
