I finally realize why Dickie V does this....you never see him criticize any coach during a game.

And every year at this time he goes off like an asshole , bitching and moaning about who got screwed....it's so out of character to see Vitale anything but sugar and spice.

But I now I get it.....while doesn't give a damn about hurting the committee's feelings! Vitale is loyal to a fault with the coaching fraternity...and this is his one day he can be controversial, it happens every year.

Vitale is 95% acting...he's good entertainment but very fake. :ughhh:

Vitale, Digger, Bilas...all very predictable....all loyal to their personal favorites.

Digger always loves Maryland, Bilas and Dukie V always on Duke.

Dick had to mention Duke winning back to back when he was talking about Florida! It never fails.

The lesser known guys are more interesting IMHO.

Duke didn't win back to back. NCAA had vendetta against Tark and Duke was the benificary of the worst refereed game in the history of sports. Don't recognize the 91 title

Here are some of the prime candidates:

Florida State: The Seminoles had zero bad losses -- all 12 of their L's were to teams in the RPI Top 50 -- but they only won five games against teams in that category. They beat Florida in nonconference play and won at Duke in ACC play for their best wins.

183.gif
Syracuse: With 10 Big East wins, many people will be surprised by the Orange's omission, but a deeper look provides some answers. Cuse went only 3-7 against the RPI Top 50 and suffered home losses to Wichita State and Drexel in nonconference play. The Orange did win six of eight to close the season and were better than .500 on the road, but it wasn't enough.

277.gif
West Virginia: West Virginia fans will forever lament the uncalled travel on Edgar Sosa at the end of regulation in the double-OT loss to Louisville that sent the Mountaineers to the NIT. WVU beat UCLA at home, but really didn't have a lot of strength behind that win in its profile. The Mountaineers only went 4-8 against the RPI Top 100.

2306.gif
Kansas State: The Wildcats become the first major conference team in this era to end with 20-plus wins, 10-plus conference wins and a fourth-place or better finish in league play and miss the NCAAs. The Wildcats were victimized by a contracting bubble, a weakish Big 12 North schedule and an even more barren nonconference slate.
2623.gif
Missouri State: For the second year in a row, Bears fans likely feel slighted, but this team's profile was not as solid as that of last season's team. They finished solidly in third in a top-six conference, but went 1-7 in games against the top competition they faced.
2005.gif
Air Force: Losses in their last four games undid a lot of good work from the Falcons. The nonconference schedule, though littered with routs of "name" opponents, didn't have a ton of significant heft beyond the big win at Stanford and their victory over Texas Tech in K.C. They were only 2-4 against the RPI Top 50.
2182.gif
Drexel: Despite nonconference wins at Syracuse, Villanova and Creighton as part of a profile that included 14 road/neutral wins, the Dragons likely were punished for their fourth-place finish in the CAA. Drexel might have been one of the teams really hurt by Nevada's and Xavier's losses in their conference tournaments. At least the committee didn't take Syracuse instead, but Drexel's omission is the most egregious of the bracket.
2026.gif
Appalachian State: The fighting Donte Minters were omitted despite a very strong profile since the Virginia transfer arrived in mid-December. With Minter, App State's RPI was around 40 and the Mountaineers had wins at Wichita State, at VCU, at Davidson, and against Virginia and Vanderbilt on a neutral floor.

The best part is when Dickie V is at the NBA draft and goes on a rampage when an European player gets taken over a NCAA guy. He was flipping out when Jameer Nelson and Sean May dropped like a rock. Im also sure he was trilled when Bargnani got taken 1st overall last year.

Doug Gottlieb is top shelf. Also, they've been showing Some ESPNU coverage on ESPN2 lately. The guy who won their first talent contest (Mike Hall ??) isn't that bad. He's very credible as the anchor of a panel.

As far as Im concerned........Duke Vital and Billy ACC Packer can both go away........They are totally useless.......Jay Bilas being bias towards Duke....I can live with.....he went there....just like Clark Kellogg with Ohio State and Hubert Davis with UNC.....I have no problems with that...they SHOULD support their schools.....and as for Vital always rooting for the little guy, let that ****** call them games late on the West Coast for ESPN 2.....dont have him do the marquee games during the year........give the asshole what he wants.....

I can see him going into the office the week before to figure out where his boss sends him......here ya go DICK, have fun, your getting paired with Steven Bardo to do the Cal Poly Slo - Pacific game on ESPN 2 at Midnight Mother ******!
