Are you kidding? Ive never heard so many people betting and talking about every game being a potential upset.

Guys wont back a dog all year are betting dogs today thinking teams like Oral Roberts were going to final 4.

GW getting thrown around like a wet paperbag by Vandy.

 Drinking that old ESPN and other pundits on tv and prints kool aid huh?

But it is surprising that ALL favorites are moving on in the early games.

When I heard this morning Clark Kellogg touting Oral Roberts outright, that was enough for me to make a small wazzu bet.

He did same thing last season.

Alot of negative mojo also with so many people touting for your ODU to "upset" a 1.5-2 pt favored Butler.

Never have understood how a 1.5 pt underdog can be predicted to be such a major upset.

yeah the problem is...w/ George Mason making the Final Four...every wannabe analyst picked an upset for each matchup.

I mean I was watching a segment earlier...i beleive it was Doug Gottlieb (who is prolly the best of any) who answered these.

1) Biggest Upset on Day 1? Oral Roberts over Wazzou
2) Biggest Impact Player on Day 1? Derrick Low of Wazzou

ummm...what am i missing here?

I think it was Doug Gottleib who actually picked Oral Roberts to win outright....did Kellogg also say that?

But the thing is that none of the favorites even came close the spread (A & M by 3 over the spread). So you can't really even explain it away by saying that perception favoring dogs deflated the lines created value on the faves....because even if the lines had been higher the faves would still have covered.

Call it what you will, but when the numbers available deviate by 7 points from my calculated line, I'll play them every time.

Could it be that the public is looking to be "sharp" an overvalues the dogs?

For the record, I'm also on Xavier later tonight, although I'm on Pitt for my biggest play of the night as well.

one thing , the dogs did look good in a few at the half...ODU up , Davidson actually led by 7 late in the half and A&M was on the ropes....Oral Roberts looked good, up 7 , 4 secs left in the half....the late flurry before the half by WSU to score 4 points in 4 seconds took some steam out of Roberts.

Unless I was hearing things he sure did say that and he did same thing last year when they played memphis in 1st round.

I remember being in Las Vegas with redeye and kermit last year wondering who in the hell was betting oral roberts down from +17 to +10.5 and waking up day of game and hearing Kellogg touting Oral Roberts being the 1st 16 seat to win vs a #1.

But EVERYBODY is better than Digger Phelps...

who says something stupid every night:

Last Night: The key to Notre Dame's win will be their sixth man

1) He gave the kid, the wrong first name
2) Then he mispronounced his last name
3) Digger's team he knows the most is ND
4) But he made sure his tie & highlighter were still matching.

I hate the ****** w/ a passion...get paid to follow college basketball, and is absolutely clueless.
