Neteller Hearing Update

As reported yesterday, the the US government was going to ask for an extension in the NETeller hearings.

Rebekah Carmichael, a spokesperson for the Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney's office, told Casino Times Press today that in order for an extension to occur, "all parties must agree to it,"

All parties have agreed.

the new hearing will be on April 16, 2007.

So .. Until then " No New News "

Let's see - US gov has no incentive to take this to trial.
Neteller is making a bunch of interest every month..

Anyone see this dragging out years?

Good Point

Sean,

Yep ... that's a very good point.

Whoever has the money ... neither wants a hearing.

I figure ... the Government wants that $$$,and AIN'T givin'-it-back.

If Neteller has it or gets it back, will no doubt file total-bankrupcy,
then say ... we don't have the $$$ or well under the bankrupcy laws,we can pay out 10 cents on the dollar.

Either way ....this can't end good for anyone not in government.

Kids, it isn't up to Neteller. Neteller isn't arrested, Neteller the company has not be charged.

Two people are charged.

Stephen Lawrence and John LeFebvre

The money wasn't taken away from Neteller, it was taken away from Stephen Lawrence and John LeFebvre's companies, JSL Systems, FCash, and Cardload.

It's frozen in JSL, cardload and Fcash accounts... netellers accounts are out of reach of US officials...

But Neteller is the one that is liable for it.

Is the NETeller Money Gone?</TD></TR><TR><TD class=columncontent vAlign=top align=left>For the past several weeks I've spent most of my waking time trying to get information on the NETeller situation. Based on emails I've received it is clear that the frozen funds at NETeller is the main issue on the minds of people I contacted NETeller representatives, the U.S. department of justice, the lawyers of Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre, an expert in the area of money laundering, and legal minds familiar with online gambling and U.S. bank representatives.

Unfortunately, few wanted to talk about the seized money or the case against Lefevre and Lawrence, and those who did talk were not sure which way the Department of Justice was prepared to proceed. But one common refrain from all who were willing to talk was the notion that at this point the ball is clearly in the DOJ's court, and whether they return the money to the American customers is totally dependant on how they decide to treat those funds. Since the Department of Justice has seized all U.S. money in NETeller's ACH system and have essentially cut off any other money held in trust for Americans at British banks, NETeller has absolutely no say on what happens from this point on. If the DOJ consider those funds to be the proceeds of crime, it is very unlikely they will give it back.

As a former DOJ agent said to me, "we don't give drug money seized from dealers back to the junkies so why would we give back this money to bettors if we deem those funds to be the proceeds of crime?" That of course is the big question. Are those funds the proceeds of a crime? This article will address that question and offer suggestions of methods Americans can use to get back the funds.

What I meant was .. NOT neccessarly banrkupcy laws,
was to indicate the US government will use the laws to keep the money.

that was just an opinion I have.

NETELLER PLC's books are public information, $55 million is an insignificant sum of money on those books; would not negatively impact NETELLER's ability to meet all obligations.

Unless the books are cooked they have the money to pay.

you do not receive interest on frozen funds.

$55 million is one-half to one-third of what is owed to U.S. customers, extrapolating from their last published figured; and assuming the amount that "escaped" before the doors were closed was nominal.
