I am attempting to do a full system recovery on a PC I have that has XP. I am using the built-in F10 key recovery system. It goes through the recovery fine but when it gets to the last step - it says the recovery is complete and says please wait. It just stays on this screen and won't advance any further. I let it stay on this screen overnight and it didn't budge. Now when I try to boot windows normally, I get a missing file error (hal.dll). Each time I try to do the system recovery it gets stuck on the please wait screen - I have tried both destructive and non destructive recovery. I do not have access to an XP cd so I can't install windows that way unless I went out and purchased a CD. Anybody have any ideas on what the problem may be/what I should do? Thanks
