I have a sports betting account with Betmaker. About 6 months ago, all the money disappeared from my account. I was told that it had been transferred to my poker account and lost. For the last 6 months, I've been given one story after another until finally, they told me that the compromising of my account number and password was not done at their end and that they would not refund my money. Is there anything I can do? I never played poker there nor even opened a poker account. Nor did I give my account number or password to anyone. If my computer had been hacked, wouldn't I have had this problem at many places?

Mothe - sorry to hear this.

This type of thing happens frequently and usually involves someone who has access to your computer for one reason or another, but not always. Bottom line is that players must be responsible for their own account numbers and passwords at all sportbooks, banks, emails and dozens or other important programs on our computers. I can ask BetCRIS what their investigation came up with if you like but I doubt there will be any change in the result.

A favorite scam is for someone to hack into your computer then transfer your balance from the sportsbook ,where they can't actually withdraw the money, into the poker room and then "chip dump" your money into a confederate's account at the same poker table.
