Well...he actually likes the show, he always talks about (even before this season)...he's just trying to make a joke of it, by trying to get the kid the win because he's so bad, that it would be funny.

Even if it's a million and a half, (some say it's less) maybe 1/3 of them watch Idol, and maybe 1/3 of that 1/3 might pick up the phone and vote.
I personally can't stand Stern, he bitched and moaned for years that he is the King of All Media because there is no competition, begged for comptetion, Opie and Anthony came along, Howard's Arbitron numbers were getting smaller because of O and A's popularity, so what did sissy boy Howie do?
Went crying to Mel K to have O and A silenced.
I will give Stern props for being a master self promoter.
He's the best I have seen at self promotion.

We just watched the second performance of the guys a few hours ago (American Idol is delayed in Costa Rica), and I was dumbfounded that Sanjaya made it past the first week.
This sucks!
Why don't they just fix the voting process -- for example, let people vote for contestants and against contestants. Then the VFTW votes will get nullified by masses of people voting against that gay wannabe talent.

Opie & Anthony, who shifted from WXYT to WKRK with hopes of winning back the Howard Stern audience, was down to a 0.9 from a 2.5 for the same period in 2005-06. On the other hand, country WDTW-FM's Rick Miller -- hardly a morning household name -- scored a 0.5 surge to a 2.3 and 15th place, just 0.4 behind rival veteran morning voice Dr. Don on country WYCD in 13th place.

And the market's biggest loser?
It's a toss-up between Emmis Communications' alternative rock WKQX and CBS Radio "Free FM" WCKG. Both stations brought up the rear among the Top 30, crippled by morning shows few are listening to.
At Q101, Mancow Muller's replacement, an ensemble cast of wise guys (and gals) who talk about the day's news, saw two-thirds of Muller's spring share vanish. Though billed as "The Morning Fix," the conceptually promising radio experiment could prove to be anything but a fix.
The only morning show doing worse is WCKG's latest replacement for Howard Stern -- the syndicated duo of Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Anthony Cumia. They're faring no better than Shane "Rover" French, who lasted only seven months here.
The ongoing calamity at WCKG is costing CBS Radio millions in advertising revenue, prompting the inevitable talk of adjustments to the station's lineup -- if not a total overhaul of its format.

this is an idiotic statement... opie and anthony does nothing to sterns show... they were/are on xm and have done nothing in terms of subscriptions... howard goes from 600k to 5 million in one year... you do the math... if xm wouldnt have been so dumb and wouldve hired stern there wouldve been no merger because sirius wouldve been obselete and dont start telling me thats not a fact because they have the football package because they had the football package before howard and were hurting for subscriptions... he hardly has to cry to mel k for anything... mel k knows talent and its certainly not those two clowns (opie and anthony)... this may be one of the dumbest post ive ever read on the rx...

In an amazing shocker of a night, Sanjaya was declared safe, while Stephanie Edwards and Chris Richardson made up the bottom two. Stephanie went home (most people said, "Who's Stephanie?") and Sanjaya made it to next week. This is a huge victory because we got him on the tour. So now everyone who wants to see their favorite Idols will also be seeing VFTW darling Sanjaya this summer too. And he gets to work with Gwen Stefani next week (let's hope he has the option of singing Hollaback Girl.)
This may be one of VFTW's greatest accomplishments ever, so thanks to everyone who voted, especially all of the new Howard Stern listeners who joined us this week! Every vote counted, and just make sure to vote just as hard next week. Sanjaya will need the help again because people are really going to be mad that he's there. But after his performance of You Really Got Me, there's no doubt in our mind... Sanjaya loves us and we love him.
