He leaves LV next week for a national tour...If you like old school R&B with a touch of jazz, creole, and good ol' fashioned funk, go see him when he gets to your town. Glad I caught him in a little theater, doubt there are very many left that can pull off a show like that. Can't believe he turns 50 next year.
have seen him 5 times over the years and not once have i left disappointed. TRULY AN AMERICAN HERO AND A MUSICAL GENIUS! he is the shit!

Five times...wow. It was great to see someone that is talented AND entertaining, not just one or the other. He didn't play one of his "hits" until 45 minutes into the show...I love that shit. He played bass on a few songs too, prolly just to show off. Prince shreds on guitar. But it was a horns friendly set, his sax player was phenomenal. Also brought out Larry (one in a million) Graham and played an old SlyATFS tune and Wendy of Wendy and Lisa showed up and played a few songs. Too bad he's leaving, I'd like to see him in that setting, 800 people.
